Overall, Max & Lily makes good quality assemble-it-yourself furniture. We ordered two bunk beds for a beach house from Amazon (more expensive than buying direct, but Amazon promised and delivered faster shipping). Assembly takes some time but is not too difficult if you follow directions. (The second one assembled a lot faster!) The finished product looks nice and is sturdy. The bed is good, assembly is straight forward but to put it together you need two people - heavy. Which is a plus. Support is slow. One of the threaded inserts was stripped so they sent me a replacement part. Waited 3 weeks and bought threaded inserts of suitable size to fix the issue. 1.5 months later - replacement came in. I literally spent all day putting this bunk bed together just to discover that the ladder was not included! The shipment was delayed to begin with and guests coming this week. In addition, as you can see from the pictures, in order for the lower headboard to work and to get the check mark as shown in instructions, I had to drill the holes to accommodate the metal bracket. Holes were drilled on the wrong side! For the cost of this bunk bed, it seems the design team should have figured this detail out already! Not sure you can tell by pictures, the board end that fits for the upper guard where the ladder is supposed to go was split and not feeling 100% on the stability of the piece. Also, there is clearly a missing end cap on the upper bunk board that should be included as that looks awful and not finished. I purchased 2 of the Vesgantti Twin Mattresses. Frankly there is a 3” gap on both levels. Again, the design team needs to be specific and tell consumer what size mattress works best with this unit as the Twin XL would be the better fit, but given company is arriving, there is no time to try and exchange. Ridiculous that I now have to figure out how to fill in a 3" gap space! All of this being said, for what this bunk bed cost and the time spent to put it together, I am not pleased with parts missing, incorrect instructions in manual, and wonder about quality given the split board that appears to be rickety. I found this Bunk bed with the stair case to be a good find, the Bed is solid and sturdy, you can install the stairs at either end, and the top bunk is has plenty of depth with the mattress to keep a child from falling off, also the beds can stay separated. A 1 year manufacturer warranty and the instructions are relatively easy, but have a second person at least for the top bunk placement it is heavy. This bed was super easy to put together. Arrived in perfect condition!! The staircase was a little confusing and we had to unscrew it and start over a couple times, but that is my only complaint. My boys are super happy and so are we! Money well spent for Christmas and looks great!

It was easy to assemble. It took me about 4hrs to get through on my own while juggling kids. I used powered screw drivers. I had to back track a few steps from instructions - my fault missing details in the steps. Kids love it.
