Description

WHAT IS A MARTINGALE COLLAR? The main difference between a martingale collar and a regular collar is that it tightens up as a dog pulls. The purpose of this is not to choke a dog, but to prevent a dog from escape the collar. Many dogs have heads that are the same size or smaller than its neck. With a regular collar, when a dog backs up from up, it may be able to slip a regular collar. With a martingale collar, when this happens, the collar tightens and prevents it from come up over a dog's head. "MANY DOG RESCUES ONLY EXCLUSIVELY USE MARTINGALE COLLARS" Our martingale collars are measured fully extended. When measuring your dogs neck, please measure his neck near the top portion and be sure to press down through all its fur to get an accurate measurement. Most people do not press down the fur to get a correct measurement. This leads to them over measuring their dog's neck. And leads to them ordering a size that is too large. When the collar is on your dog, the metal rings at the ends should not touch. The nylon portion attached to the D-ring should be extended. If you pull on the D-ring and the collar does not tighten, then the collar is too large and must be adjusted smaller. GREAT FOR TRAINING A martingale collar also tightens if the dog is pulling on a leash. You can give your dog slight corrections and it will respond much better than if it were wearing a regular collar. For every collar sold, we donate a to a dog rescue. Dog rescues are in constant need of dog supplies. We donate 1 for 1 for every purchase. By purchasing one of our dog collars, you receive a premium high quality collar and you donate one to a rescue. Together we can support dog rescues with a never ending supply of collars. Each month we donate to different rescues throughout the USA. At the end of every month, we tally up the number of leashes and collars sold. Based on the number, we determine how many rescues we can donate to for that month. We donate down our list of rescues until each one has received a donation and then we go back to the top of our list. In special cases, we will donate to rescues out of turn based on their immediate needs. FEATURES: Stainless Steel Chain 5mm thick D-ring Comes in 4 sizes (XS, S, M, L) Available in 7 colors (Black, Blue, Red, Pink, Orange, Teal and Purple) 1" wide x 2mm thick nylon (5/8" wide for x-small size) Reflective stitching for increased nighttime visibility Separate loop for dog tags and charms. Test out our collar yourself by shining a light at it in the dark. We think you will be impressed at its reflectivity. Many other collars use a thin line of reflective stitching or a reflective tape that may peel off if the collar gets wet. The chain martingale collar uses 2mm wide bands of reflective stitching around both edges of the collar. This gives the collar a large amount of reflective surface area compared to other collars. * Please note that even high quality stainless steel chains may cause some dog's fur to become darkened. Our buckles have a locking clasp that prevent accidental release when grabbing onto the collar. This feature is preferred by many shelters and rescues.

  • One of the best collars
Size: Small Color: BLUE
Very satisfied with this collar. Our dog trainer highly recommended it and she wasn’t wrong. Makes dog walks and training lessons much safer. Can be extended and shortened according to pets neck size, has a lot of slack for that. Clasp works smoothly but sturdy. Very easy to use, you can attach leash easily with one hand. Has different color options and looks nice on my doggies. It suited for training sessions and for regular activities. ... show more

  • Perfect! Max and Neo are the best!
Size: Large Color: ORANGE
I'm a fan of Max and Neo for sure. I have many, many collars by them because they are the perfect quality and price point, and the company does a lot to help rescues around the states. I have six dogs, all rescues, and all with... quirks. This collar in particular I got for my 80 lb Shepherd/Husky/Bully mix who is a big baby with a curious mind, the intelligence to figure out everything, and the strength to break whatever is in his way... like crates, baby gates, and tie out cables. He pulls on a leash pretty terribly when he wants something, and understands how to manuever himself out of a regular collar. So I got him this martingale one. I like the chain piece, because I noticed with other dogs and other brands of collars, that the fabric types will eventually wear out from consistent use - but chain will not! The nylon is also super sturdy and the buckle, while plastic, does hold him just fine! He has not ever broken out of or pulled out of this collar. I do appreciate that they have locks on the buckle, though I have not needed it. As for training, I can't speak to that too much, as I haven't used this collar specifically for training. No collar is a quick fix for anything without supplemental training anyhow. My dog wears this collar (for the most part, I do swap between colors) regularly and it doesn't bother him. So I assume it's comfortable enough. It's a perfect fit for him (and his very thick, fluffy neck) and is definitely reflective! Our security camera catches me walking him at night and I can see the collar very well. Highly recommend for those looking for a martingale collar! ... show more

  • Best training collar
Size: Medium Color: PINK
Love this collar. It’s easy to use and effective in helping train my Doberman catahoula rescue. Gorgeous color and strong clip. I like the locking feature. Feels very sturdy without being too bulky.

  • Strength of a choke collar without the choke!
Size: Medium Color: PURPLE
I love this collar! I have a Pit Bull/Rottweiler mix who usually does good on a leash but when she sees something she wants she’ll pull. This collar is great because it will tighten up without the choking chain collars do. It’s also very high quality and lasts a long time. I love that there is a separate little area to put the name tags on as well. I now have 4 of these collars so I can have different colors to choose from. I have a purple, pink, blue and black. ... show more

  • Max and Neo Stainless Steel Chain Martingale Collar Review
Size: Small Color: BLACK
This martingale collar is actually really solid and well-made overall. The stainless steel chain feels strong and durable, and the design gives good control without being as harsh as a prong collar. It fits nicely once adjusted properly and works well for training and leash walking, especially for dogs that tend to pull or slip out of regular collars. The chain tightening is smooth and doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy. My only issue is that it does take a little time to get the sizing and fit just right so it sits correctly on the neck. Once it’s adjusted though, it feels secure and reliable. Overall, it’s a strong training collar that feels high quality and works well for everyday walks and leash control. ... show more

  • Strong collar and best for pulling dogs
Size: Medium Color: BLUE
Excellent collar for my crazy dog. He cannot get out of it even when he tries.

  • Just like the three little bears, this one is just right. Perfect price everything.
Size: Large Color: RED
This is a very good collar for a dog that is pulling or that you are in training. There is so many out there that claim to be better than the others they are extra padded. They have the little hooks with the little plastic covers. It’s annoying. I had one of those it would flip over the little spikes would be pointing out word it wouldn’t even be doing anything the fabric Cinching part with twist up and just be right next to the dog’s throat. I honestly think this is one of the best ones out there, especially for the price. I don’t like them that are too thick. The thinner the better for me. If I was out doing hunting, I would want a thicker one so they don’t get caught on branches easy but thin for training is what I like the best. It’s reflective. The clip works really good for a plastic clip. It has the locking option. Right out of the package I did not even have to adjust the size. It fit my dog’s neck perfectly and he actually has stopped pulling on the first walk with it. He Is still tries to lead in front he needs work, but this collar is really amazing. ... show more

  • Good quality, good design, it works
Size: Medium Color: BLUE
This is a sturdy quality collar. Gentle on the dog's throat, yet it provides correction when you're dog pulls. I've tried several other collars--prong collars, pinch collars and two types of harnesses. This is the best solution. Of the collars I've tried, this one is the easiest to put on and remove--one simple snap buckle. Tip: This collar or any collar is not "magic." You have to train your dog, because your dog wants to pull and gets what he or she wants for pulling. Yes, even with this collar. This collar is a training aid, not a magic bullet. Watch YouTube videos on training to prevent pulling. These videos and this collar have help me a lot. It's hard to enjoy a dog walk if your dog is constantly pulling ... show more
