    • Great brakes for an excellent price
Bought this kit for my 2004 Volvo S60 2.5T with the 286mm diameter front rotors. The kit fit perfectly, and so far the brakes perform excellently! I will definitely buy this kit again in the future. I did some searching for reviews on MaxBrakes and while I found mixed reviews, most were positive. Same with reviews on carbon metallic brake pads which I specifically ordered this kit for. I'm not fan of ceramic pads and have run both Hawk and Stop-Tech on other cars, so I wanted something similar which I feel the carbon metallic pads offer with this kit. Once received (and with any rotor you order really) just make sure you spray them down with degreaser to clean them up so that you have a dry and oil free surface for the pads to contact with. Also properly bedding in the pads to the rotors are essential for maximum pad and rotor life and to prevent compound build up on the rotors and vibration eventually occurring. Despite the low price, this is a good quality kit that I am glad I discovered and bought. EDIT: 6/19/2017 I'm not changing my star rating of these, I still maintain that these are an excellent brake kit for the cost, and still excellent components for normal street use. With that said, this is by no means a performance kit. After some spirited driving this weekend on a mountain road, I did exhibit some fade with the brakes which to me show that they are not really performance intended. The rotors (all 4 corners) I noticed developed a blue ring about 1/3" thick on the outer edge which means the pads are overheating the rotors. In normal street and stop and go traffic around LA, they work flawlessly. But for spirited driving, you'll want a different pad at the least. Also, these carbon matrix pads do seem to throw a bit of dust. I have yet to use a pad that is low dust though, have never seen a pad labeled as such that actually was successful at that. I would still get this kit again when I need new brakes. ... show more

Order arrived at my home in 6 days, Canada to Tampa Florida. 2 weeks early. Project was super easy, and quick, minor tools required. Pads do not come with slide pin grease, make sure you grease these, on toyota and lexus, these stick and will cause rotors to warp. These products are excellent ! rotors were sanded, both directions at the factory, circular motion, nice touch. Rotors are coated and will need to be cleaned prior to install. Pads, which were upgraded by the seller at no charge !! are Carbon metallic !! dark black composition and already had shims installed on them ! ...The entire install took 30 min in my garage with no large jack, or power tools. (2010 Lexus ES350) You will need a pry bar or something to slip over a socket wrench to loosen the main caliper bolts, very tight. I use a 18 inch long 1.5 inch, thick walled pvc pipe, turn wheels out so you do not remove a bumper cover when it breaks free !! air tools work so much better !! Once finished I drove the car, now keep in mind, I have not installed the rear yet, I have those. I test drove the car.. AMAZING, zero shake, zero pulsation, and after 5 very hard stops from 60 mph, engaging the abs, no fade, no noticeable increase in distance. I am awestruck at the cost and quality of these parts, The best brakes I have purchased for any car, no joke, no BS. High quality, better than OEM for a 1/4 of the price.....I will install the rears this weekend and update the performance gain, after two weeks, so far, so good.... Huge decreases in brake dust so far. ... show more

Rotors and pads fit perfectly and seemed to be of high quality. Conducted breakin process per instructions. Work very smoothly and no noise. Have a little over 500 miles on them so far. Will be getting same sets for other cars when needed! Update: after 20k miles, front rotors have increased brake pedal vibration and steering wheel jiggle. They are done. ... show more

This is the sixth time I replace brakes on my Volvo. And I find these to be of very high quality material and engineering techniques put in these brake parts Especially the front rotors how they are made ! It's the first time ever I saw a totally different new approach of keeping the brakes cool and balanced rotors that are engraved with a notch at outer sides. Disc pads also excellent workmanship and quality . No protrusions or rough or uneven face. If these brakes are put through proper initial breaking in process they would last long and perform great. It all depends on clean proper installation and proper break in cycles. Preferably on dry days and not on rainy days or dusty roads Many thanks to the seller of this product ! ... show more

I purchased front rotors and back rotors for my car in February I noticed a shake in the front end so I checked the tire pressure and alignment and it was ok then I had the brakes checked and found out my front rotors were wrapped so I called and they said we don’t give a refund but they would replace them so I said so you want to keep driving a unsafe vehicle and all I got was I am so sorry for your inconvenience but that was that so I said lesson learned have a great day ... show more
