  • Drive bay failure less than 24 hours
Stopped working in less than 24 hours. I was wary that this was not an Apple Certified device, but gave it a shot anyway. One of the drives (brand new also) stopped responding in less than 24 hours. That same drive works great in other enclosures - leaving me to assume this was a failed drive bay in the Beelink EX Mate Studio. I have a Satechi nvme enclosure for my Mac Mini and it works great - guess I will wait and hope that they make one for Studio. ... show more

  • Best external option for Mac studio
Despite the initial problems I read others had with this. I tried it out and had zero issues setting up whatsoever. Going on a week of use without any hiccups. In my opinion, it's well built and works great! Cons- requires power, and does not come with a power supply or cord. I had plenty of old pixel chargers and USBC cables, so I used a set I had laying around. The rubber pads it comes with for the feet encourage you to place them in the indentations in the body, which are also where the screws are to remove the bottom in order to get to the SSD bay. Dumb design. I just placed the rubber pads alongside that area, so the screws are all accessible. Not a huge deal, but wouldn't give it more than 4 stars because of it. ... show more
