This was one of those random purchases I made right before our surf trip. I thought it would be good to have to lock our keys up while we went surfing in unfamiliar territory and BOY was I right. We locked this thing to trees, shrubs, a lifeguard stand, guardrail, you name it and it worked amazingly. We even locked it to a pole then buried it in the sand (risky with the turn dial setup) and the rubber combo guard kept the sand out just fine. You really cannot beat this for the piece of mind it provides. The cable is a bit thin but it’s a SOLID little box. The only thing to keep in mind is that if your car is keyless entry (where you can click the door handles to open from a distance) you have to make sure you lock up far enough away from the car that the signal can no longer reach. Great to hold phone, small amount of cash or a derringer. It needs to be a little larger to hold a regular pistol for example or a large phone plus ear pods and cash, medication or documents.
