  • Works well but I found it hard to install
The 220 volt water heater works well and provides hot water for a wash basin. The unit is secured by a hook that is included. Perhaps I made it difficult for myself and there are easier ways to install but I placed the electrical box for the connections behind the water heater which appears to me the install suggested by the manufacturer. I found it very difficult to get all the wiring into the electrical box while trying to hang the unit on the hook. After multiple attempts I was finally successful and the unit works well for my use in a hand basin. I’d like to see a design significantly easier to install. The provided hook works but seems a bit flimsy so I hope it holds up. I hired an electrician to provide the 220v power supply. I can’t speak to the 110v version but found the 220v to work well so far. ... show more

  • Recommended. Easy to install.
This works well in north Texas. We replaced our old 50 gallon water heater with this. I couldn't get a bigger unit because we only have 30 amps to that part of the house. Great that it is adjustable. In late spring and summer here, I have to adjust it to 10amps for showering OR leave it at 20amps and run a faucet on hot water because the shower flow is too light to keep the unit on unless the hot is maximized. I'll try removing the flow restricter from the showerhead. The negative is the flow adjustment in the unit. There's no high and low, it just spins 360°. The only way to adjust the flow in the unit is to have the hot water running, then go to the unit and feel and hear the water flow as you are turning the knob. Overall, after some trial and error, I'm very happy with it. I figure I'll need to use it at 30amps in the winter and will update my review if it doesn't work. BTW- Remove the water inlet and outlet (blue and red) plugs before installing! ... show more

  • I love the temperture control on the outside.
You have to buy a 3 prong cable if you have the regular 220 which is 4 prongs. Easy to install

  • So far, so good
We bought this to replace the old 30 gal water heater in our condo in Hawaii (1 bed, 1 bath). We only had a 30 amp breaker and was hoping this would be enough since it worked on 10,20,30 or 40 amp. Was pretty straight forward to install. The only issue was after I hooked it up, it would not come on, but after looking at the manual it was because I had low water pressure. I located the pressure regulator for my unit and turned up the pressure and it came right on. I ended up having to turn the unit down to 20 amps because 30 amps was way to hot. So far we are very happy with the purchase and would recommend it. ... show more

  • Not UL or UPC approved.Doesnt pass building code.
Works ok for me.I am an appliance tech and know how to use this safely but most people dont. Works on 10,20 30 or 40 amp.expected to wire it diferently depending on your circuit but no,you just select amp by turning a 4 position dial on front. If someone turns it higher it overloads the circuit. Im using a 30 a circuit so i disconnected the #4 element to make it safer.no instructions to do this are given and most people wont know how.30 amp gives a decent shower lower settings will only be adequet for a sink. Use at your own risk ... show more

  • Works great so far
I haven't had it long enough to comment on durability but it definitely gets the water at my taps and bathtub hot. It takes about the same amount of time to get warm water as it did from my tank wh. My house is about 850 sq ft. I have it set to the 40a and the flow at the lowest. To be fair tho, I have a lot of water pressure, so I'm sure that helps. If I open the kitchen, tub, and bath sink at the same time.. there's a noticeable drop in pressure but unless you're a psycho who takes scolding hot showers, the balance from the cold line will still give you a fair amount of pressure. The installation instructions are garbage. I still have no idea how they expected it to be installed with that bracket. I took a couple 2 inch screws of my own and found the nearest stud. It doesn't weigh much, so you could even get away with not using a stud most likely. On a side note.. it is impossible to find a 3/4 to 1/2 inch nipple adapter locally. So if you're like me and you want to use your existing 3/4 wh fittings.. you'll need to find it online. I didn't know it was called a "nipple" so it took me forever to find one! ... show more

  • WOW WOW WOW!!`
I live in Hawaii, so the cold water is pretty warm out of the tap already. With that being said, after 3 weeks without hot water, the hawaiian warm waters werent feeling so hot in the mornings. I live in a small condo and use this for both my kitchen and bathroom as the sole source of hot water. This replaced a POU eco smart tankless hot water heater that barely gave me hot water for my shower. I use this on 3/4 power setting and the lowest flow setting and the water is insanely hot! What an upgrade! Highly recommended for entire house use in a hot climate. Cant image what it would be like if I used this on the highest power setting, which my electrical panel cannot handle. Love the flexibiity of this unit! Thanks Marey!! I am stoked to have you in my house! ... show more
