  • Great product at an affordable price
Style: Home Gym Cage
This home gym comes with everything but a bench, barbell, and weights. You still have to purchase those items separately but your still able to build some GAINS with this unit alone. Materials: The product weight is 137.5 pounds and made from alloy steel which is powder coated in black. The home gym ships in a two box set with a thousand parts for assembly. 😃 Follow the instruction manual and diagrams, and tighten screws and bolts when directed. Build: [Time: 2 to 3 hours] Please do your back a favor and have a family member and/or friend help you put this together. The bolts can be tighten down with a 5/8 socket wrench which will be much faster than using an adjustable wrench. Performance: Pull-ups bars. There are two separate bars which are bolted together but feel sturdy when doing both chin-ups and wide grip pull-ups. The bars hold my weight (200lbs) nicely but it definitely helps to perform the exercise using strict form without swaying. Cables. The pulley system feels more like a 1 to 1.5 weight ratio (than product description 1:1) in terms of resistance but a little WD40 or grease on the metal post should help. Metal knurl handles. The dip station supports my weight and feels nice, and sturdy (I'm 5'9 and 200lbs). I place the handle bars on the outside slotted posts but the bars can be placed within the inside depending on your preference. I experience more stability with the bars placed on the outside. Quality: The materials within this price range, have stood up under the recommended weight limits and practical use so far. However, the product will creak and sway; especially, if you do not have stored weights to offset the structure when doing lateral movements. Conclusion: I wanted a home gym primarily for doing pull-ups and dips. I was actually looking to purchase an outdoor pull-up and dip station but ended up buying this instead. I think this a great product worth buying; especially, if you want to workout from the privacy and comfort of your own home. ... show more

  • Solid buy for home gym users
Style: Home Gym Cage
Terrific purchase. The cage is sturdy and it isn’t difficult to assemble. Slide your preferred bench into position for presses and lat pull downs, but you may want to pick up a 7 foot bar to make it easier to clear the stand. If you are looking for a reasonably priced home gym for basic weight work, you’ll find this unit to be a solid deal. Has an adapter for Olympic plates but it really seems to be designed for standard weights (cabling and pulleys probably won’t tolerate a huge stack for long). Overall a good home gym. ... show more

  • Decent rack
Style: Home Gym Cage
I wanted to add a rack to our home gym. The space we have kind of limited what would fit from a size stand point, in particular height. I decided on this one based on the fact that it would fit, plus with the cable system it would give me a lot of options for exercises. As other reviewers noted, it took a little time to assemble. I did it by myself in about 2.5 hours. At least a half hour was just unpacking all the parts as each comes individually wrapped. When opening the two boxes it arrives in the task looked a little daunting. But once I got going it went together smoothly. No written assembly directions, just pictograms. But they sufficed. I've been using it 5 to six times a week for 6 weeks now so I can give it a honest review. The very reason it works for my space (short uprights on the front) also makes it a little less sturdy than other racks. It's not unsafe, and I wouldn't call it wobbly at all, but it does move when you are racking the bar with weight on it. That design also requires a stabilizer bar low on the frame between the front and back uprights. This means you have to move the bar outside of the rack for any deadlifts and bent over barbell rows. The cable system is nicer than I was expecting and is fairly smooth in operation for what it is. It's nice having the high/low options for pull downs and rows. The safety catch bars are pretty straightforward and work. The bar hooks though are just this side of junk. They are steel on steel, and allow the bar to roll back and forth on them. I invested in some new plastic lined J hooks right away. They fit the frame better than the ones that came with it, and the bar is held in place. I also purchased a set of attachments for the cable system, narrow grip, V handle and rope. I can blast my back and Triceps now. If you have the space for a traditional design power rack that would probably be the way to go, but I am still very happy with this one. ... show more

  • Great value for your money; pretty much all you need for a full body workout
Style: Home Gym Cage
This is the best squat rack for the price. 1) Pulley system is sturdy and smooth as long as it is properly loaded. I load approximately 100lbs without any issues. 2) Size is perfect for me to squat comfortably, but I am only 5'6. I recommend a 7ft squat bar. 3) Pull up bars are sturdy with a comfortable grip. 4) The attachments for the pulley initially felt light and somewhat cheap, however, they have held up surprisingly well. This would be inexpensive to upgrade down the line as needed. 5) Dip bars are also sturdy but again, I am not a big/heavy person. Minor flaws: 1) the J hooks don't feel like the most sturdy pieces, as they can wiggle a bit when racking the weight. They are also angled slightly downward once mounted, so the bar always rolls toward the edge. The end of the J hook obviously keeps the bar from rolling off, so this shouldn't be a safety issue. 2) The space for storing your weights is slippery if you are using metal plates, which can be annoying. I fixed this issue by applying electrical tape over the portion of the rack that the metal plates sit on. This prevents them from sliding, keeping them upright. 3) You can't deadlift inside of the cage, since the lower part of the cage frame is too high for standard size plates to touch the ground. I suppose you can do so within a partial range, allowing the bar to lower to the frame. This squat rack has made my time during quarantine much more productive and I couldn't be happier I bought it! ... show more
