These runner rugs work to cover a very old carpet in this rental. It is hard to believe an owner would not put new carpets in a rental when they are clearly over 20 years old. Obviously, I was desperate to find a rental. Anyway, I bought six of these runner rugs to cover most of this horrible old (most likely hugely dirty) living room rug. In the bedroom I have my own rug I brought from my old house, to cover the horribly old carpet that came with this overpriced low-level rental. These runner rugs do move, so it takes constant moving them back, to keep them in place. None the less, I can deal with that. One has to be careful of tripping over the ends that curl up, and I will have to work with covering the ends. Still, I am happy with these, despite the little extra work. The rug is cute and it unrolled perfectly without any creases or wrinkles. It seems very thin, which is what I wanted. I placed it on the bare floor in front of my sink. I was surprised at how soft and padded it feels when I stand on it. I am very happy with this rug. I can't comment on it being easy to clean, or whether it's stain resistant because I received it just yesterday. However, since the main color of my rug is close to the same shade as the pizza sauce I use, most of the spills I create will blend right in. Our new 60" x 24" Maples rug doesn't slide around on the floor or curl up at the corners. Dense, firm pile is comfortable for bare feet and insulates effectively against the often cold flooring. Haven't needed to wash it yet, but seller says it is machine washable. In the meantime, dirt and sand don't seem to imbed in it so periodic vacuuming does a nice job of keeping it clean. I purchased this Maples Rug as a spare for our laundry room to use when I am laundering the primary rug. This Maples rug was inexpensive, and the colors were right. And although some of the reviews stated that the rug was thin, the consensus was that the non-slip backing was good. Our laundry room has a ceramic tile floor, exits to our garage and gets a lot of foot traffic. As soon as I unrolled the rug, I noted that it was very thin and lightweight. But the colors were lovely and bright and the non-skid rubber backing was quite ample. Once I had it on the floor, I was surprised that the rug did not budge, even with a 100 lb puppy running across it to get to the car! I am quite happy with this Maples Reggie Floral non-skid rug. It has now become my primary, and I will be purchasing other rugs from Maples Rugs, which are made in the USA! ... show more

I purchased this rug to go in front of my navy leather sofa. The carpet there had several stains, such as spilled coffee with cream, that I could not remove. This rug covered the stains, fit perfectly by the sofa and matched the dark navy sofa color nicely. It is over medium pile carpet and does not slip or wrinkle. I'm a fan of Maples Rugs. US company, great colors and designs. I love that they are rubber backed. I dont need or want thick plush heavy carpeting everywhere. I actually prefer a thin rug, but that comes at the cost of needing a separate backer to keep them in place. I had stumbled upon a Maples Rug several years ago that was large enough to use as an area rug and had good rubber backing. I loved it, and I still have it, but recently I retired it as my mood for something else came up (now I use it outside). I didnt replace it with another Maples, if only because I didnt see the color/pattern I wanted. But I imagine at some point I will. Then there are other areas of the house where I have smaller Maples Rugs- in front of doors, etc. I have probably 6 rugs of assorted sizes from this brand. I just like it, a lot. Yes, they are thin, light, but that rubber backing is where it is at for me. If you need thick, plush, then seek elsewhere. I totally understand. These may not be for everyone because of the lightweight factor. On the plus side, no matter the size, they fold up or roll up easily for storage. When I decided to get a new little rug for my step dad, I immediately set out to look at Maples Rugs. He had a rubber backed rug that was falling apart and no longer had any grip on his ceramic floor. I bought this as a Christmas gift and he began using it immediately. I can toe it a little and it moves, so not sure if it is a matter of the rubber not being as grippy as my others, or it is simply the flooring that it is on. He has it in a cold spot of the house on a slick ceramic floor. Basically in a breezeway between kitchen and heading out to the garage. But it does slide around, and is way better than what he had. One note on vacuuming. I find that using the non beater bar option (like a floor option) is better than the carpet option. These are short knap, and the beater bar could eventually pull up on the fibers. Best to shake out the rugs and then vacuum floor, or just gently go over the rug itself. The Maples rugs are very colorful and seem to be well-made. They are washable and have a non-skid backing. They are not a cushy rug, but add comfort to a hardwood floor. I like my rugs and I like the story about this small town company.
