I immediately put the rug to use. At first it was a little stiff. Great price for the size. Easy to clean gets 4* because it is so large you need to take it to a laundromat with a large front loading washer but it’s so worth it. I just got back from washing it and it looks brand new! It’s also much softer now! I washed it on cold and dried with no heat. My dogs made it dirty which you can kind of see in the first photo. But wow! After the wash it’s awesome. Totally worth it. It doesn’t slip/slide move around which was important for me with kids and older pets. I also bought the runners that match and it’s fabulous. My dogs have lighter fur and it hides/isn’t noticeable with this carpet (but that’s what I wanted if I can’t vacuum and people show up). Very much an excellent purchase. I really like this rug, especially for the price! It has non-skid backing which was important to me, the design is cute, and it cleans up easily. Gross story- my cat vomited across the entire rug one day, more vomit than I thought one cat could hold, and I immediately took the rug outside, hosed it down and left it to dry in the sun. Took it back inside a day later and you can't even tell anything happened. I haven't put it through the washer yet, but using a jet stream hose did not ruin it. (And neither did the sun.) I got the 2'6 x 3'10 size suitable as a floor mat inside our front door and I'm very happy with it. It seems decent quality and is good for our purpose. It is soft on bare feet, yet also good to dry off or brush clean shoes from outside. The rubberized backing prevents it from moving on the tile, which is great and had been a problem with the rug it replaced. It is very flat and most doors would go over it without problem (although ours has a rubber sweep on the bottom so its just a tiny bit tight for that). The flip side of that is it does not really provide any cushion on the feet, so if you want something cushiony it would absolutely need a pad under it. The pattern is nice. The only thing that I don't like so much is that the pattern does have an irregular faded quality - just like in the photo. On one hand it makes it look "weathered" and sort of authentic. On the other hand, it looks kind of dirty at first glance, and I'd prefer it not to have those areas of darker and lighter pattern areas. Update #2) 2 yrs later and I still loves this rug. I wash it every couple of weeks, due to either the cat vomiting on it or the dogs muddy paws from coming inside. I have been searching for a plain colored rug but Maples doesn’t seem to have one that I can find. I will keep searching because if I find one I will definitely purchase. Highly recommend this rug** UPDATE #1) I have this carpet in my hallway and it seems to be a perfect spot for the cat to vomit on. I have washed it numerous times and I throw it in the dryer, and it comes out perfect. No Frilling or damage to the carpet. I would definitely buy another one** awesome little rug. I got the 2x6ft. No slipping at all. Fits perfectly in my small hallway and is Dog approved. Would definitely buy again. ... show more

Return customer!! Five years ago I purchased a total of 9 Maples Rug, they have performed beautifully. Washed them threw them in the dryer and each time they came out looking brand new. Sure they faded a wee bit but the rubber backing never broke down. They never roll up on the edges, they have a good weight to them so they stay in place. Purchased another set only because new home different colour flooring. Happy to review still the same quality, and arrived nicely protective and rolled out without a crease or need to wrestle getting out ripples or folds. Well done Maples Rugs!!! This rug came this morning and upon opening the package it smelled horribly of vinegar or rotten eggs... I almost returned it, but I liked it so I threw it in the washer and hoped for the best. To my surprise it came out super soft, smelling great (thanks Snuggle fabric softener!) and it looks great in my kitchen! Also, it has a rubber backing that is high quality unlike some other photos I’ve seen. It’s tightly sewn, and cleans really easily in the washing machine.
