  • Works great on games as well
I wish ì would have got the unit for two mics

  • Good budget XLR mic
The sound on these cardioid mics are pretty decent for a budget item. This is an XLR mic which means you need an interface in between such as an audio mixer to properly supply the requisite voltages and balance the audio if need be to reap the full functionality that this microphone has to offer to you, the consumer. You might be able to test it out with a guitar amp you might have lying around provided that you have the right adapters. The mic stand is high quality and offers some cable organization to keep your workspace organized and free of clutter. The mount is not unlike any other desk clamp mounts so it's quite easy to install and quite secure as well. 5 out of 5 stars, it's currently on a bit of sale to make it that much enticing for those that are just starting out in Podcasting. ... show more

  • Perfect for Podcasting and Streaming
I've been using the Maono podcasting microphone for a few weeks now - it's a cool entry-level option for anyone looking to start podcasting or streaming. The sound quality is good, with a natural warmth that makes my voice clear and deep. The included boom arm is easy to set up and allows for flexible positioning. It is not as good for recording my flute or recorder, but it’s good for podcasting, gaming, or calls. ... show more

  • A decent microphone.
While the microphone is pretty good, the boom arm is rather cheap. The springs are loud when adjusting the arm, and if you're recording/broadcasting that sound will be transmitted. Aside from that, the microphone is pretty good, definitely worth it if you're starting out.

  • Awesome
For such an inexpensive microphone This Thing Really Works well. I like the boom arm, it's easy to adjust and stays where I put it. The sound quality is really good and it has a nice professional look. I would definitely recommend it for someone who's just getting into podcasting and doesn't want to spend a whole lot of money on a Shure. Keep in mind it does have an XLR connector so you need to have a mixer to connect it to a computer. ... show more

  • Good mic, almost as good as my SM58!
I was very excited to try out this mic - I had been looking for something I could use to record vocals into my computer - as my last interface was causing some latency issues. I think I jumped the gun when I got this mic though, but the price was so good. I didn't notice that it has an XLR connection (even though it says right in the title). So I haven't been able to test it on my computer yet, but I am able to use it with my vocal amp. The sound is very nice, deep and rich. Probably not ideal for singing unless you put a pop filter on it, but nonetheless it is excellent for its purpose. ... show more

  • Good entry-level microphone
This setup offers good entry-level sound quality, though it can occasionally sound a bit 'boomy.' This aspect might require some tweaking of settings to perfect the audio output for your needs. Importantly, this mic requires an XLR interface, so it's essential to have one on hand or consider purchasing one. I found myself having to crank the gain almost to its limit to achieve the best possible sound, which isn't ideal but manageable. However, the boom arm component doesn't quite match the quality of the microphone itself. It's somewhat tricky to adjust and position the microphone effectively without accidentally loosening another part of the setup. This can be frustrating when you're trying to maintain a specific recording angle or when you need to reposition the mic frequently during use. ... show more

  • Surprisingly nice budget mic!
Went into this with low expectations and this blew way past them. For the price, what a great sounding microphone! Very warm tones, and the boom arm is super easy to work with! This is an "XLR" microphone, meaning your computer won't have the proper connections for this built in unless you've purchased a very specialized PC. You will either need to purchase an audio mixer or there are even XLR-to-USB adapter cables out there. A "mixer" is your better option for full control of your microphone and can find some as low as $50, but can try the adapter cables for about $15...so if you're just getting started and don't have XLR equipment already, you can get a great sounding microphone, boom arm, and mixer for anywhere between $65 and $100...a great price in my opinion! If you're looking for better sound than your wireless gaming headset, this is a great place to start! ... show more
