Initially, I purchased the improved trimmer blade replacement because I figured that it would only make sense that it would work better. After installing it, I gave it a try. It didn't get nearly as close to the skin as I was used to with the original design. After looking at it, I noticed that it is because the metal guard teeth are much longer than the ones on the original, and does a poor job of guiding hair into the ceramic cutting teeth. So to be fair, it is safer as it suggests as far as preventing nicks, but I have an IQ above 50 (I think) so that isn't something that I'm concerned about. I purchased the original trimmer blade replacement immediately and I was back to the close, quality trim my mcnuggets were used to. ... show more
