Overall, I would highly recommend the Mammoth Guardian kennel. I own numerous SportPet kennels and was thrilled to see Mammoth and SportPet have teamed up to create this Guardian kennel. The Guardian certainly lives up to its reputation for toughness with numerous unique features that although small, they combine to make a significantly improved kennel. Our family regularly travels into the mountains for hikes or to the coast for days at the beach, consequently, I wanted a kennel that was tough and could withstand a lot of abuse either at home or when traveling. The Mammoth Guardian certainly delivers a tough, durable kennel. PROS: + DURABLE! This is a tough kennel, designed to withstand abuse. I enjoyed their marketing video where they dumped it off a tractor, so I tried a similar experiment and threw the kennel down 12’ and it was fine (see video) thanks to thoughtful design touches including rubber bumpers on the corners and gaskets between the top and bottom molds. I believe their marketing video was honest, as I have beat up this kennel pretty well and it has withstood the abuse really well (just mud and grass stains). The door frame has six attachment points into the plastic shell of the kennel which makes it very secure and helps solidify the kennel – the door has a metal frame which attaches into the plastic kennel by 4 screws plus two “wings” on the sides that each have an eyelet to receive the bolt attaching the two plastic shells of the kennel. Another one of those “small details” that I like – they have the vent-holes angled outwards so dogs inside can not chew on them! As we have a labrador retriever puppy who likes to chew anything he can get his mouth on, I love this feature as my dog has not yet even tried to chew on them. + Easy: The door handle is very unique and extremely easy to use, dare I say the best handle I’ve seen on a dog kennel? It’s easy to use with a round grip that you rotate to open or close. No more pinching, squeezing, fingers slipping off small tabs, or any other pains associated with “traditional” kennel doors. On top of the kennel, the Guardian has two comfortable handles to make lifting and moving it easy. The rubber bumpers on the bottom not only provide cushioning to protect the kennel, but they also help keep the kennel from sliding around on surfaces. + Versatility: There are wheels labeled as “optional”, but after my initial assembly I decided to attach their bases to the bottom of the kennel and found the wheels very easy to attach or detach. The wheel-bases do not protrude below the rubber bumpers on the base so they’re relatively discrete and hidden. The overall kennel size is nice that it’s large enough for many dogs - our labrador retriever puppy is currently 75 pounds and fit in there comfortably, was able to turn around, etc. However, the kennel is still compact enough to easily fit inside the back of a mid-sized SUV (there was room to spare when I put it in our 2024 Buick Enclave). NEGATIVES: -Assembly: It was relatively easy to assemble (it’s just a bunch of bolts with washers and wingnuts – easy enough that my 12 year old son could do it). However, assembly does take a few minutes, so now that I’ve assembled it I doubt I’ll be disassembling it or storing it in a smaller footprint. This is not an issue for me as we have a collapsible SportPet kennel that we can quickly setup or breakdown if needed – we intend to leave this Guardian kennel setup full-time on our patio or in our car for road-trips. -Tightness: There were some minor gaps between my two shells when I first assembled it as evidenced by light being visible between them when looking from the inside. However, this was easily solved when I tightened down the wingnuts while holding the screws in place with a screwdriver. Overall, I would highly recommend this kennel - it is a well-designed, tough product that makes dog containment easier!

This is the mother of all kennels! If you are like me and have been looking for a tough, well made, attractive kennel that you can pass down to your grand puppies - look no further. This kennel arrived last week and holy moly am I impressed. It’s a beast - in all the right ways. Solid exterior, high quality door that’s really easy to use, rubber bumpers on the corners so it won’t slide around in the car or on the floor. Bonus points as it also has two handles so I could carry it into the car myself and also comes with wheels that you can attach if needed (all the accessories came neatly packed so you can store them for later use if needed). I was looking at other kennels of this caliber at over $600 but decided to give this a try…all the bells and whistles at a great value - glad I took the leap. Fits great in the back of my Lexus NX and as you can see, Cookie approves.

Love the Guarding Kennel, but the Roll Cage arrived without instructions or any hardware. Assembly appears incredibly easy, but, with missing hardware, not really practical. I've tried emailing and calling customer support, but no one is answering me. Will update if I eventually get some help with this.

Surprisingly large - the interior feels much bigger than wire crates with same external dimensions. My dog is 60lbs, and has plenty of room to turn around and lie down in different positions. Well-packed and easy to assemble - three main pieces (top half, bottom half, and door) along with simple wingnuts & bolts to attach, all neatly packaged in box along with the wheels Extremely durable - cardboard box had cosmetic issues from shipping but crate itself had no damage. The rubber corners make it especially forgiving and the assembled crate is super solid. The heavy duty shell makes it easier to move and carry than similar all-metal kennels with dual handles, easy door latch, included bowls, ventilation slits, and different color options, this is great value for an extra large crate

This is my second Guardian kennel. I was excited to see new colors to better match my truck’s color scheme. We’re avid off-roaders and love to adventure, so the rubberized corner bumpers on this kennel dampens the terrain for a more comfortable ride for our border collie. It also helps with the typical plastic clunking when moving the crate around or setting it down on hard surfaces. I’m a huge fan of the twist latch over the typical pinch latch, which is long nail-friendly and makes it so much easier to avoid breaking a nail. Since I am always traveling with the dog, the kennel permanently stays in the 4Runner (it fits perfectly up against the rear bench and doesn’t bump into the hatch when closed). On the rare occasion that I do need to take it out for cleaning such as after beach days, I don’t have to disassemble anything. Just lay the crate down with the door facing up and spray down with the hose. Light scrub with a cleaning brush, if needed. Everything naturally drains through the vents. Haven’t had any issue with odor retention with our first kennel despite heavy usage so I don’t expect one with this one either. The crate is heavy duty and because of that, it’s on the heavier side but not unmanageable as a 4’ 11” female and still worth its weight in safety and durability. It seems to be the perfect size for medium (and smaller) dogs. My border collie fits in it perfectly at 65 lbs. In the event that I fly with him, this is definitely my kennel of choice as it’s also airline-friendly.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the kennel. My dog (ACD, 45lb) was very comfortable in the kennel today on his first time using it. I bought a pad for kennel separately and he was quite comfortable and relaxed during our trip. The kennel fits perfectly in my Jeep Grand Cherokee. That said, there are a couple of things to note. First, the packaging was poor at best. Assembly hardware was in a separate box within the kennel package. The hardware box was loose in the box and was damaged in transport. Parts were strewn all within the outer box. Flat washers, bolts, etc. all just scattered. Those left in the hardware box were just loose. It appeared that someone just threw in handfuls of parts without care. As such, I was short several flat washers during assembly. Second, while it's a solid kennel, some of the bolts for attaching the door were bent. I can't say if that was a result of poor packaging and shipping or general workmanship. In the end, the bent door bolts were sufficiently straight to allow the door installation and full operation of the door. Third, I noticed on our trip that the door does rattle. Not uncommon for wire style kennel doors, I suppose. However, if you're sensitive to rattles, you might want to consider that as well. Again, overall, I am pleased with the final result. The kennel is solid, not too heavy though. Nice carrying handles allows for easy carrying and loading. I do feel the door is solid and secure. Assembly was pretty easy (notwithstanding the missing washers); instructions were good. I would recommend the kennel, just be prepared for a bit of a packaging mess.

The crate got delivered today and was assembled within a couple of minutes. It looks robust and provides enough space for our 64lbs dog. Main decision to buy this crate was that it looks durable, has 2 handles and wheels can be added easily Here is why I can only give 2 stars. The top right corner protection is missing which is annoying. Lack of QC I assume. All others are already mounted and screwed to the crate. One additional screw missing, not a big think. Trying to get the the corner protector replace is sending me through a the Amazon support maze and to a manufacturer support website that is not existing… will try to call the manufacturer to get the spare part but this is just annoying… also I do not want to return the entire crate as I can see that it is a good product
