  • Great Product - Use as directed
Malawi/Victoria Buffer is a really great product and works very well. Be sure to use as directed and always, always dissolve the product first. I got cocky and added it straight to the tank without measuring and caused several fish deaths, especially with large cichlids as they breathed it in through their gills. Do not do this! After I dissolved it and even split the dose over 2 days I have no more issues. Be sure to raise PH slowly or pay the consequences like I did. ... show more

  • Does what it's supposed to do!
Used to raise your water's pH. You will have to experiment a little, testing to determine how much your water will need to get the desired pH level. Seachem does give you recommended doses.

  • Works great
It dissolves very quick. The small bottle goes to quick, the big one is overkill, unless you have bunch of big Malawi tanks. This one is great, last long enough that I'm not having to get a new one every few months. It keeps the ph perfect and the fish look good

  • Perfect to Maintain a 7.8 PH.
I have a 125 gallon cichlid only tank. I do 40 gallon water changes once a week. I only need to add 4 teaspoons to maintain a ph of 7.8. This large bottle lasts a long time although the price has increased twice since my original purchase.

  • Does what it does
Use as directed, and you're fine. Test before you implement, then again 12 hours later. Re-Dose if needed. Or save a bunch of money and go buy Baking Soda.

  • Four Stars
My tank loves it
Reviewed in the United States on August 4, 2017 by Michael E. Murphy

  • Works as advertised
Bumped my ph from 7.0 to 8.0 1 teaspoon per 20 gallons. I do a 25% water change every other week in my 75 gallon tank and I add a teaspoon, It keeps it steady at 8.0 for my African cichlids
