I am impressed with this set overall. It is a great price for this type of dishware set. Everything arrived in good shape and was packaged very neatly and carefully. It is a set for four people, so it is perfect for most of my get-togethers with friends for family because I rarely have more than 4 people at one time. The weight of dishes has a good feel, like sturdy enough that they shouldn’t break or chip easily, but light enough to carry around with a full serving of food on it. As I unpacked it, there were a few black spots on the sides that I thought were going to be an issue, but it was just a bit of tiny debris from packaging/factory and washed right off. The finish is smooth and shiny. The color is very good overall. Not a paper white, but better than some of my other “white” mugs from other manufacturers. The dishes do have some cosmetic flaws, but they are pretty minor and very similar to the small flaws in my other stoneware and porcelain dishes. The glazing or coating process can be a bit uneven sometimes. If you are familiar with stoneware, you will know this is the case. Overall, this is a great dish set. Since it is white it can be paired with a lot of other dishes and colors. I have some yellow and green Fiestaware and these look great together with it. I would not hesitate to buy this as a gift for a newlywed couple who is just starting out, someone for their new apartment, or for a college student who has a kitchen area, as well as for your own personal use. I would buy this product again. It is an especially good buy for the price. A similar set in my local department store is normally 2x this price! If you want more details, read on… Microwave use has been fine so far. The dishes do not get exceedingly hot while food stays cold like some of my other glass dishes. The food warms (and the dish warms too). These had no issue in the dishwasher. No chips or problems so far. I will update if anything changes. I have not used them in the oven. They say they are oven safe, but I typically don’t use any dishes like this in the oven so I have not had the occasion to try it out. This set is similar to a dish set sold at my local department store for $120 (I have seen it on sale for about $60). However, the dish set from the department store has 10 oz mugs and this Malacasa set has 16 oz mugs. I love the size of these mugs! They might be a bit heavy for some, but I like having the extra space for more coffee! The bowls in the department store set hold 20 oz and are not as deep. This set has 26 oz bowls. Again, I like having that larger size bowl especially for stew and I love the deeper sides. Many of the bowls in sets like these are flatter, almost like a plate. The deeper style doesn’t fit quite as well in the dishwasher, but oh well, I can deal with that trade off. I have included lots of photos so anyone reading this can see examples of everything I shared here. In a few of the photos one or more of the dishes looks a slightly different color. They are not. The color difference is only in the photo due to lighting/flash and not on the dishes. They are all the same exact same color of white (see photo that includes food and in the box before unpacking as an example).

The media could not be loaded. This 16 piece dinnerware set is pretty simple and straightforward, which is exactly what I was looking for as a “first apartment” housewarming gift. The all white design means that they will go with anything and 4 of each piece is enough to host guests (or skip a day or two of dishwashing) without being excessive. With that said, there are four of each piece: > Large dinner plate (10.5in) > Smaller salad plate (8 inches) > Soup/cereal/etc bowl (6-ish inches) > Large 16oz mug The video clip shows the size of everything relative to each other. The largest plates are roomy enough for pretty much any meal. The “dessert” plates are closer to “lunch” sized, which is still pretty generous. Both have a slight lip to avoid spills but not so much that you can’t actually use the whole plate surface if needed. The bowls are a good balance of size/depth to be versatile. Soup and cereal are obvious, but dressed salads, saucy pasta, etc. could also work just as well in the bowls as on a plate. The 16oz mug capacity was a big plus, since they will be used by a coffee/tea drinker. They have enough room for a 12oz pour from the coffeemaker, plus cream, coffee syrup, etc. and room enough to stir without spilling. The set arrived in a branded box which clearly states the contents, but is “plain” cardboard so it doesn’t have detailed product imagery or anything. If you’re gifting it, the recipient won’t know what the dishes look like until they actually open the box. They were very securely packaged inside the box, with no damage in shipping. Each set of pieces (mugs, bowls, etc.) is contained in a separate section of styrofoam with liners in between. There were bits of fluff and styrofoam on some of the dishes, but they should be washed before using anyway, of course. The dishes have a decent weight to them, and feel a step up from an entry level set from the big box superstores. Overall, I was happy with the look and feel of this set.

I added the MALACASA 24-Piece Porcelain Dinnerware Set to my kitchen collection and I'm absolutely thrilled with this purchase. The gray white color has a modern yet timeless appeal, making each meal feel a tad more elegant. The set includes plates and bowls, which are just the right size for serving a variety of foods, from desserts and salads to pasta. One of the highlights of this set is its quality. The porcelain is sturdy and has so far withstood the everyday bangs and clanks in the kitchen. The square design of the dishes adds a touch of modernity to my dining table, and I've received quite a few compliments on them. However, I noticed that the bowls are a bit on the shallow side, which may not be ideal for serving soups or larger portions.
