  • Compact and Portable
Style: Inflator, Tool Only Color: Teal
I've been needing a portable tire inflator for a while now, and I finally decided to pull the trigger on the Makita DMP180ZX. I'm really glad I did! This little guy is exactly what I was looking for. First off, it's super easy to use. I just screw on the appropriate nozzle (it comes with a few different ones), connect the hose to the valve stem, and set the desired pressure. The pressure gauge is clear and backlit, so it's easy to read even in low light. Then, I just turn it on and let it do its thing. It inflates quickly and automatically shuts off when it reaches the set pressure, so no more overinflated tires! Another big plus for me is the size. This inflator is really compact and lightweight. It easily fits in the trunk of my car without taking up much space. Plus, the comfortable handle makes it easy to carry around. The built-in LED light is a really handy feature. It's come in useful a couple of times already when I've had to top up my tires at night. It's not a super bright light, but it's enough to see what you're doing. Overall, I'm really impressed with the Makita DMP180ZX inflator. It's easy to use, accurate, compact, and portable. The built-in work light is a nice bonus too. If you're looking for a good quality cordless tire inflator, I highly recommend this one. ... show more

  • Makita Tools are Hands Down Awesome!
Style: Inflator, Tool Only Color: Teal
Makita, I own 60+ Makita Tools, some near 25 years old. I was hesitant to buy this because of a few reviews. But I’ve not been let down in near 3 decades of Makita, I took the plunge as I do have a pressure washers, wheel Barrow, a parts Truck or two, Moving Dolly’s and 5 Family Cars. Sure some of my stuff doesn’t get used for months on end and tires go Flat or lose air. Well instead of firing up a Noisy 240Volt Compressor I grabbed the lightweight, ergonomic Tool, added a Battery and went to work, I used for my first use a 6.0ah Battery, I said ok let’s test it out, 2 pressure washer tires at 30 PSI, two Dolly tires at 30 PSI, a wheel barrow tire at 30 PSI, 4 ford ranger tires at 40 PSI, now sure they were not Flat but had near a 1/4 of the recommended pressure in them and this tool did all of them great, the nice features are the ability to set a pressure and the tool shuts off when reached. The hose whip that locks on the Stem is great. Sure you have to hold the trigger but by NO means as one reviewer said does it need a trigger lock, I have carpol tunnel and I had NO issues holding the Trigger. The Tool did not overheat as I went one tire after the other. I then checked my battery meter and the battery was still showing full. So, by far I’m pleased, it beats firing up my 60 Gallon shop compressor, My 30 Gallon Mobile Compressor or My Framing Compressor. No big hoses to wind up after. No compressors to drain. Plus it would be awesome on Road Trips along with a Tire Plugging kit as I frequent a isolated Ranch 150 miles away from my home and 20 miles away from any service’s. Makita you did good! I recommend it to anyone. I would gather for such a small compressor it does take a little time to fill a completely flat tire but it beats trying to fill it with your mouth when your on the side of a freeway on the way home on a Sunday night at 10pm. I’m sold and it’s a Five Stars from me, a retired Union Electrician and former Master Certified automobile and heavy duty Truck Mechanic. Thank you Makita! ... show more

  • Time to throw out that old corded inflator you’ve been struggling with.
Style: Inflator, Tool Only Color: Camo Green
I bought this because, like many people, I have an old clunky corded inflator which is a hassle to use. I have to drag out an extension cord, unwrap it, maneuver around all the obstacles in my garage for each tire, double-check with a hand gauge, then reverse the process to put everything away. If you already own Makita products, and don’t need to buy a battery or a charger, this one is a no brainer. It weighs only 2lbs. 4oz. (without a battery), similar to a lightweight cordless drill. No cord to wrestle with. Just turn it on, connect it to the tire valve, set your desired pressure, and press the trigger. It will shut off automatically when the pressure is reached. It is a small device and a little slow. It took about 30 seconds to add 5lbs. of pressure to top off one tire. The lack of a trigger lock is a negative (especially if you’ve got a flat tire that’s going to take awhile to fill), but Amazon sells the Lenink Trigger Lock ($8), which works like a charm (see separate review). Both the tire pressure monitor display on my car and a good hand-held gauge verified the readings are accurate, and there’s a light on it which would probably come in handy if you were stuck on the side of the road somewhere at night. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Small and easy to use
Style: Inflator, Tool Only Color: Teal
This little air pump has got to be one of the best conveniences from Makita. I have been a big Mikita LXT and CXT cordless tool fan for a number of years. After using this for one day, I ordered a second one for my travel trailer. As others have mentioned, the one downside to this pump is that there is no trigger lock. Instead of sitting there and holding the trigger, I simply wrapped a a Velcro strap around it. When the tire attains the pre-set pressure desired, it automatically shuts off and you just move to the next tire and start again. Easy to use and inexpensive to boot. Makita makes these in both the LXT 18V version and the CXT 12V version, as well. Update October 2021: I have now purchased a total of four of these pumps, the last two were gifts for my son and a neighbor. This pump is one of the handiest tools in my arsenal, as it beats dragging out a pancake compressor to bring infalted items up to working pressure. ... show more
