    • It’s good but the upgrade to 10w is worth the money
I bought this about 3 months ago and wanted to engrave the a table that I was building. I quickly learned that there was a lot of trial and error to getting the perfect color out of the laser. It was easy to get some basic letters on a piece of scrap wood. Pictures are another story. You will quickly find yourself going down the rabbit hole of power and speed on different materials to get the right balance of speed vs color and depth. Then you will be jumping to paid software to do the cutting and saving all your presets into folders for each materials. Doing math to find out how wide the laserbeam is so that you can set the size of the rows to match. The software defaults to 1mm and the laser is .8mm wide so it will leave lines in hardwood. The one thing that I wish I had done was go for the 10w laser over the 5w. It cuts 3 times faster and can do twice as many materials. It’s worth the extra money if you are doing anything bigger that a drink coaster. The table turned out great but the 12 by 16 image that I put on the bottom of the table took 16hours to cut. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. **UPDATE: Seller reached out to me and I tried again. Very impressed! They went above and beyond to make this right!** Im changing this review from 1* to 4*. Talk about an unboxing fail. The legs were not in the packaging and it's not that they jarred loose because they were screwed together. Then the manual was all greasy and had fingerprints on it.     • Good but not what I need
This system was easy to set up and even though my SD card did not function Customer Service was easy to contact. Once I got it running it has been super easy to use and works great on wood. I have yet to get it to put anything on glass or PlexiGlass. As for Stainless steel, it will faintly mark it. I do not think the 5 Watt is strong enough. I am trying various techniques to get it to darken on the steel and to even imprint on glass. If I can't I will probably be sending it back. ... show more

I gave this a four, because it stop working within a week. However the make of this product is located overseas. They communicated with me during the early hours. However, they did replace it with no problems.

This is my first tool of this type. I found it to be well packaged, assembly was simple, and once up and operating, I found it to be very user friendly. I am happy with my choice of purchasing the XTool D1.

In the description there’s water-bottles and even the animal dog bone for you to try. It took 5 hours and 8 passes to have it look like this. Don’t advertise and give pieces to try if it can even do it. We were looking forward to water bottles and putting names on but that won’t work. Since we got on prime day we can’t even get the 10 watt without paying a ton more. Guess you get what you pay for. It does a good job on wood. ... show more
