ok, I have had this camera now for almost 2 years: The number 1 advantage is the ease of installation, it does not get any easier, the camera itself gets snapped onto the metal surface (in my case I had to install a steel plate because my Humvee is all aluminum), the monitor inside the car, turn them bot on and VOILA' you have picture. The second GREAT feature is that you can use this as a security camera like I have: You snap the camera anywhere in your vehicle or even out of you vehicle on some metal post, bring the monitor with you in the hotel room (I was at ground floor) with a USB battery pack, turn on camera and monitor and VOILA' you got an eye on your vehicle all night long (providing you are within the range of transmission in my case it was about 60-70 feet LOS). The fact that you have reference lines on the screen helps tremendously when you wan to backup in a tight parking space, they take sometimes to adjust and fine tune but once set they stay there for ever (unless you accidentally move the tilt angle of the camera itself) On the DOWN SIDE: The integrated solar panel is not enough to keep the battery charged, even if the camera is exposed all day to the sun, in 2 or 3 days you'll have to connect an external solar panel or USB battery pack to "refill" the battery. The GOOD NEWS is that apparently in the new version of this camera they have increased the size of the integrated panel, so very likely this problem has been cured. Another problem that I HOPE has been cured is the amount of light allowed into the lens, this causes a sort of "wash" on the screen when outside is a bright day, not like you cannot see anything but the image looses contrast and you lose details in the picture, definitely annoying but not a deal breaker. I have never used the recording function of this camera. I wish the view angle was not so wide, wide is good, REALLY wide is not so good because it puts objects in proximity farther away than they really are. I could go on with a series of improvements but at about $100 you CANNOT COMPLAIN, this is a VERY GOOD DEAL. No I am not sponsored by this company I have purchased this product and never received anything for free. BTW: Their customer service is very responsive via text messaging through Amazon ans I am buying their latest version of this camera with the bigger solar panel.

Strong magnet and works pretty well. The signal strength is really strong. My camper is aluminum (no magnetic surface on top) so I have this stuck to my bumper. I drove the truck up the road and it was about a hundred yards away before it lost the connection. I turned around and drove back and without the truck in the way (driving towards the camper) I got reception back thirty yards farther away. When it's on the bumper the lines aren't out as wide as I would like and the depth perception is a little off as far as when you will hit something backing up but it's only a foot or less. I have the spare tire on the bumper so I need to make sure to leave a few extra inches when backing up so I don't hit anything. I think that's probably more getting used to it when compared to my truck's back up camera. I will be mounting a plate on the top of the camper so I have a better view and I am sure that will eliminate all of the minor issues I have mentioned. I drove around town and up to about fifty miles per hour and did not have any loss of signal but will have to wait until next weekend to see how highway speeds are. If there is a problem, I will update this review but I really don't think there will be. Oh, and the solar panel on the camera is great! I plugged it in and charged it before putting it on the camper and have not taken it off of the camper yet and it still shows full charge. We even had three or four days with almost no sun and just rain and clouds.

This item was great on a 2700 mile road trip on my ram 1500 towing a 24ft trailer. There were times where it went out for a second or two but it didn't bother me. I used it as a rear view mirror and always knew when a semi truck was coming up behind me so I'd be ready to be blown around. I couldn't imagine doing the trip without this camera. I also cut off the solar panel and hard wired it to the trailer. When you take the panel off there are 2 wires you should secure apart from one another. This was required to get it to fit above the trailer's rear door and under the beaver tail. I encased the entire top in silicone.

Camera connects easily to screen and has very good battery life, one thing I do not like is the picture does not seem to be real time the signal is very choppy I've tried it on my travel trailer and also on my tool trailer.

I installed it at my trailer as the rear camera. I searched for a product with long transmission range. it did its job well as the video transmission was very stable, except a split of a sec when going under bridges or tunnels. amazing battery life assisted by the solar panel. I had a two day trip with 12hr driving per day, and the battery lasted until the very end of the trip, therefore a solid 23hr+ battery life even the solar panel partially blocked the screen is big, bright and easy to see. it comes with a sun visor to reduce glare. however it is not a touch screen and the button detent is too subtle. I needed to rely on the response of the screen to confirm if I pressed the button successfully. the magnet attachment is very simple and strong for a secure mount to my trailer rear bumper. very good solid product. recommended

I needed a camera for the back of my 95 F350. I don't have tow mirrors so whenever I was hauling large items or towing, I wouldn't be able to see behind me. This camera helps immensely! I even had an instance where I had some 20ft lengths of material running through the cab and I couldn't see my side view mirror. Just pop the camera on my passenger door and I was able to see beside me! Every once in a while it'll lose pairing but it's pretty straightforward to pair back up. I did have an issue with the mount snapping and a loss of signal when I was towing and I had the camera all the way at the back of my load. I reached out to the seller and they sent me a range extender and a new mount free of charge. Highly recommend this camera!
