    • Solar motion light for outside of RV
They work very well on the RV for outside lighting and motion security. Easy to install the only thing I would say is that the adhesive strength should be better for outside attachment on RV.

OK, I am here six weeks later to update from 1 star to 4 stars! Randomly, this magnetic, solar charged, motion light, suddenly started working perfectly. And I absolutely love it. I don't know what changed, but it hasn't glitched & strobed in at least three weeks now. I did not change the settings at all, it just suddenly started working normally. I have now moved it to the front of my RV and it is so darn bright and helpful, I just love it. All in all, it was worth the wait. Just for how bright it is and how many times it can come on and stay that same brightness, throughout the night. Really wanted to love this product! I have another similar one installed on my RV permanently, but I wanted one that we could move around for night lighting. Unfortunately, I'm using it more as a security measure to alert me, on the opposite side of the RV from the doors, because it glitches out constantly and blinks on and off rapidly like a strobe light before it stays steady on or turns off completely. I can imagine this would be quite a danger to strobe-Sensitive folks. As well, you are supposed to be able to adjust the brightness, it does not work on this unit. I have read the instructions and tried every setting on the remote to no avail. You just don't know when it's going to glitch. The only positive is that the solar charged batteries seem to charge up and hold the charge well, so far. ... show more

I am very impressed with the size, weight and overall quality of this solar RV light. It is about 12 inches long and sticks out from the area where it’s mounted by a little over 2 inches. The kit includes adhesive magnets for the area to be mounted as well as bolts that fasten into the back of the solar light if it is mounted using the magnets. There is also an option to use drywall anchors. My husband mounted this to our east door because it does not have an outdoor light and we use that door much more than expected. Our previous solar light ( that was mounted on the door, to compare) was about 1/2 this width and only illuminated straight ahead. This lights shape has a 3d lighting effect with side lights. The sides are only about 1 ¼ “ wide of lighting but it makes a big difference eliminating shadows at night. The light is designed in such a way that the solar angles away from where it is mounted. This helps the built-in solar panel get the most sunlight possible for recharging during the day.The shape of the solar charger and the coverage of the light ( all on one unit ) are both well thought out, in my opinion. I like having the remote by the door inside the house. I can turn the light on before someone arrives at night so they can both see clearly and tell which door they should use. I can also illuminate that area if there are sounds out there at night. We live on a ranch so it would be very concerning if there was a person outside our door. Deer, squirrels, coyotes, foxes, and turkey are the most likely - although most are not out at night unless there is something really disturbing them. This was marketed by the seller as a porch light for an RV. If I needed a new or different solar light for anywhere on the outside of my RV, I would choose this one. One side note on that - if it could not be solidly mounted to my RV, I would want to remove it from the exterior when traveling ( we have a pack up list so it would be added to that check list ). My concern, our roads have some pretty bad bumps plus the 3d shape and size of the solar light would make me worry about it coming off going down the road - especially when a pair of semi trucks was going by…based on personal experience - 2 semis removed an 800 lb playhouse from my husband’s flatbed trailer when he was driving 20 mph so - if its not bolted to the side, I would want to remove it in an abundance of caution before travel. The price of this light at the time of this review is $28.99. When I ordered it, I thought that the price was a bit high for a solar light. The angled side lights caught my attention so I ordered it anyway. I am very glad I did because after using it for several weeks, I think the price is fantastic for the quality of design, construction and the amount of light it offers when needed. I highly recommend it for any dark space that will have sun at least several hours a day to recharge. I hope my thoughts help someone. ... show more

    • Better choice elsewhere without remote control
The best thing about solar lights is that, hopefully, once installed, you can forget about it. It's all automatic. So I am not a fan of the remote control. If you take away the remote, then this lamp is not competitive in its (listing) price range, compared to what you can find here an Amazon, in terms of build quality, brightness, and battery capacity. I do find the magnets strong enough to hold up the lamp (actually be careful not to let the 2 magnets pinch your finger). The back flap where you attach the magnets is the weaker link. Also the screws and nuts are not stainless so will rust. ... show more
