These cabinet locks are great! I would gift these for a baby shower gift! They don’t look bad on cabinets and were easy to put together. I have had these on since my son was 6 months old and all of them still function great! (He is now 2 1/2) easy opening for adults and still provides great safety

    • Good locks at a great price

These are good locks. I ordered a 16-pack with 3 keys for half the price of an 8-pack from other brands! The locks seem sturdy. They all work properly - no duds. The double-sided tape that comes with them is very strong, and the package includes a few extra pieces of tape in case you need it. I'm taking off a star because the installation was tricky. I read the instructions, watched the videos and tried to use the included installation template. Despite all of that, I still had to tinker around with the first 2 locks for 30 minutes to get them just right. If the strike plate is too shallow on the cabinet, the door whacks it when it closes. Too deep, and the lock can't latch and unlatch properly. Once you get the strike plate on, then you have to try a few times to put the lock in the right place on the door. Not too high or too low. I'm talking about tiny adjustments of 1/16th of an inch! But after 30 minutes of tinkering, I came up with a procedure that worked for me. I was able to install the remaining locks in about 5 minutes each. I also love that Eco Baby sells extra keys at an affordable price! Half the price of other brands. ... show more

We bought these to prepare for a visit from my granddaughter. They worked great, but took some getting used to to get them installed right. I suggest buying more than you think you'll need...you're going to mess up the first couple until you see how these parts fit together with your cabinetry. The template they provide looks useful in theory, but it is really just training wheels. Once you see how to install these, you don't need it, and it actually slows down the installation and makes it harder. The instructions say to install the "hook" slightly lower than you think you'll need to give clearance for it to unlock. Listen to that advice! Just 1/16" clearance is more than you need, but 0" clearance means you have to break something to open the door/drawer. The magnets are strong (the "key" and the "hook" have magnets in them), and it will work through about 1.5" of wood, but two of our drawers were too thick where we needed to put the hook so we couldn't use it there. As others have said, you will drop the keys, and they will snap apart. Be sure you put the magnet in the right way or the key will stop working. (magnetic poles won't line up). Now that granddaughter has returned home, the locks are still installed, but they are all set to the "unlock" position so we don't need the keys anymore. Overall, these are easy enough to install once you get used to how to do it, the 3M double-sided foam tape works as expected, the locks are secure enough for their purpose, and they will stay out of the way when you set them to always unlock. Very good purchase, and if you didn't know we had the locks, you wouldn't know, since they are completely inside the drawers/doors, and out of the way as much as possible. ... show more

We purchased this 16 lock child-safety locking system for our entire kitchen. We have a new toddler and, in the kitchen, he is an active hunter. The quality of the lock set was top tier. These safety locks have a proven track record now and we could not be happier with them. They lock well and the magnetic key unlocks them easily. You do have to tweak the installation a little bit to assure you get the optimal placement. The whole install only took about an hour or so. Once you get the hang of the first couple of locks, it goes easy from there. What we have found to be even better than the quality of the locks is the customer service. Their customer service is one of the best we have encountered in recent memory. Hands down, the best we've encountered in a small business. There were a few issues that we encountered while doing our install and Eco-Baby tech support and customer support swung into action to help solve the issue and facilitate the cure. I would, absolutely buy this product again and I have been telling anyone who will listen about our experience. ... show more

    • Great idea and clean installation

These are very handy little devices, nice that you don’t need to drill any holes in your cabinets. A few things to keep in mind though. When installing make sure that you don’t place them over anything ferrous such as nails in the cabinet faces or they won’t pop back up. The adhesion gets more tenacious with time, you can peel them back up and reposition after a few minutes but the next day it’s quite a task to peel them up (good thing the package includes some extra sticky pads). So far they have held up very well to my little girl and also to some friends two year old boy. I would suggest getting these setup before your kiddos figure out how to open the cabinets, that way they don’t get used to being able to open them and then all of the sudden they can’t. My little girl just gives them a tug and moves on, I think if she was used to opening them that 3M would have a lot harder job to do. ... show more
