Works as intended. Got these to keep our granddaughter from getting into cabinets. We have knobs on all of our cabinet doors and these work great. Our cabinets are white so these locks blend in well. They are very simple to install and use. I do want to say that you do need to watch and use the curved side first when putting the lock on. Otherwise they won’t “lock” into place. They will just slide right off. It would have been nice to make it a little more obvious as some other adults in this house have issues putting them back on correctly, lol. But when done correctly these work great.

I actually bought these to deter two marauding 9-month old house cats from getting into my cabinets and tossing out the contents--not for a child. I chose these because there's no installation and I'm a renter and didn't want to drill any holes. They only work for pairs of cabinets with knobs or handles close enough together to attach to both. You have to compress two buttons to release the racheting lock in order to slide it off. However, if you have adjoining cabinets with small-ish knobs, you don't have to remove the bracket to remove the lock, just loosen it and tip the bracket to slip it on and off. I find this handy for the cabinets under the sink, which are opened and closed a lot more frequently. You do have to take the lock off to open cabinets with regular handles, which takes a few extra seconds when getting something out of the cabinet, but it's a worthwhile tradeoff for not having to pick up all those spice bottles four times a day because a bratty cat decided to get in there and push them all out. So, these locks are doing the job I bought them for.

They're currently keeping my 11-month-old out of the cupboards, but I have a feeling he'll be able to just remove them by force soon (my 3-year-old figured out pretty quickly that the lock fails when enough strength is applied). The plastic isn't super sturdy, but I think they'll last long enough for our purposes.

Truth is if you have a toddler that can squeeze or a Thinker that can squeeze, this doesn't work. I'm so upset, just woke up to my cabinets opened and ice cream cups and crackers work cheese all over my bed in our hair and I'm back here now leaving a review. 6/24/2026. My 3 year old can open, this doesn't work. I'm just happen he went for the cookies and not the products under the sink. Signed Upset Grandmom. P.S. there need to be something to stop them from squeezing it. Thanks 4 at least trying
