This started happening when i tried to add my 3rd ribbon. Meaning I only got 299 ID Cards out of it, I used everything just as described in manuals... Quality during the second ribbon was good until the last 10 IDs or so... Researching on internet i found out this means the motherboard is having issues. Funny thing I avoided cheap ID Printers just to prevent this, i need a reliable machine. This machine is in a 10/10 condition, It never fell off, I didn't even move it... Setting up the Pronto 100 was as the name implies...pronto! I like that it came with a USB drive for installing the software and drivers as opposed to a disc which is quickly becoming obsolete. However, I think having to keep it in to ensure that the software is licensed is a bit unfortunate. The software itself is pretty straight forward and easy to use. Just a note that this printer doesn't print both sides simultaneously so would require different templates for the front and back. ... show more

I purchased this printer to replace an older card printer that was too slow and fickle about ribbons. We utilize this printer for our employee ID badges, and it has already received a lot of use. The printer is a high-quality product, is quick, and the print quality is excellent. It has a much smaller footprint than our previous printer, so, it saves space. As of now, install of software was easy. However having to keep the flash drive in a port to access the licenses is a pain as I loose access to a port that could be used. Overall product is great. Printer is easy to set up with clear instructions and software is easy to use.

⭐ Buyer Beware — Especially If You're New to This Type of Printer! This printer package technically does what it claims—it prints on PVC cards and comes bundled with CardImaging XXS and CardHub software. But here's the major catch: there is almost no usable support for the software, and that makes setup incredibly frustrating. I’ve spent nearly a week trying to get this to work. The software constantly tells me my card image is “wrong” but doesn’t explain what that means or how to fix it. There's only a barebones quick-start guide included, and no full user manual to walk you through the actual use of the software. Trying to get help has been a dead end. CardHub appears to be a support platform, but it just redirects you to CardImaging. CardImaging only offers email support—no ticket system, no tracking, no live help. I paid to upgrade from XXS to XS, but even that came with no instructions. Here’s the part I wish someone had told me: CardImaging seems to be a clone of CardPresso—a much better-supported software with actual documentation and help resources. But no one mentions this, and even knowing that hasn’t solved my issues. The only way I’ve managed to print anything at all is by designing in Microsoft Word and printing directly from there—which is far from ideal. Bottom line: If you’re not already experienced with this kind of software, expect a steep learning curve and zero support from the companies involved.
