Cats are too smart to enjoy this
It's nowhere near as big as looks. You have to really stretch to get the ends together because it's so small. Then they don't stick. Once I finally got it to stay together, my kitten played with it for a minute. Realized even though he had the ball, he couldn't get it out. He quickly lost interest. He's not dumb enough to waste his time on a game designed to never go anywhere - typical smarty pants cat. It comes with cat nip. I dumped that on it. It bought this thing a few more minutes with him just chewing on it lol. I wouldn't buy it again. I should've read the reviews first. Would not recommend. Cats are just too smart to maintain any interest in this. He's not a picky cat. He plays with every single toy he has. Except this one. He gets more fun out of a wrapper than this. ... show more

Clever and fascinating, but short-lived and not very durable
My cats really liked this when I first got it, but their interest dropped off after about two weeks. They still occasionally go back to it, especially after I recently realized you can stretch it out more, but it’s nothing like the excitement it had at the beginning. The design itself is honestly fascinating. You can fold it in on itself, flip it, and change its shape in ways that make absolutely no sense to my brain. From a design and physics standpoint, it’s really cool, and that part alone made it feel worth the price at first. That said, the material is the biggest drawback. It’s made from a very thin cardboard, similar to the inner core of a paper towel or toilet paper roll, and in some places it feels even thinner. Because of that, the edges bend easily, and my cats have been able to chew parts of it. Once those edges bend, it becomes harder to reshape, and the ball that runs inside the track popped out pretty quickly. When the ball goes missing, interest drops even more. Size was another point of confusion at first. Initially, it looks too small for a cat to sit inside, and a cat wouldn’t instinctively realize it can be stretched. Once fully stretched out, kittens can fit inside it comfortably, and I do think a larger cat could fit if they manually stretched it themselves. I didn’t realize this at first, and stretching it did help renew some interest. It’s worth noting that the ends connect using magnets, which isn’t clearly explained. When I first opened it, it looked like the laminated ends needed to be peeled to reveal adhesive, and I almost did that. Once the ends are brought close together, the magnets snap into place, but clearer instructions would have helped. For the price, it feels overpriced given the materials and durability. If it were made from something sturdier, I’d probably feel very differently about it. As it is, it’s a neat, one-time novelty that my cats enjoyed briefly, but it’s not something I would buy again. I don’t regret trying it, and it’s definitely an interesting design, just not long-lasting enough to justify the cost. ... show more

Sky Approved but destroyed!!

My kitten, Sky, loves this thing. She has not stopped playing with it since I got it out. It is the perfect size for her. Well it has not even been a week and my 2 pound 7 week old kitten has destroyed this. What a disappointment! I definitely would not recommend now.

Good buy!
Such a cool toy!! Our office found a 6 week old kitten that had been dumped. We’ve had her about 2 months and she’s starting to venture around the office being mischievous. We’ve purchased an array of toys for her, and this one definitely is in her rotation!! When I opened it up; I thought for sure this is not what I ordered, but the instructions worked and it was put to there in less than 20 seconds! It’s big enough that when the ball rolls to the opposite side of the toy, she can’t see it, keeping her interest longer. It came with what I can only assume is catnip, but we haven’t tried it. Would buy again. Seems sturdy enough for her on tile floor, but it easy to accidentally kick. The ball in there has little jingles when it rolls, it not too loud and obnoxious. ... show more

Cat in the Demo is AI
Please don’t waste your money on this hogwash. The Cat and toy in the video are AI. I should have known that. Amazon should be ashamed to sell it. The product and company are a scam. It’s not defective. They didn’t even try to replicate the advertised product. I am giving it two stars because one of my cats loved the tiny package of catnip. I have a smaller 8 month old tabby and a 5 year old Turkish Van. Very different breeds, and behaviors, yet neither cat has shown any interest. It is too small and stiff to do the swirly thing. Only a rat would sit only it. The ball without the cardboard is a dog’s toy. It’s ineffective as a scratcher, and the magnetics are a joke. I love magnets!
