I was looking for a really light summer blanket, for when a top sheet is just barely not enough. This isn't as airy-light as I was hoping for, but it's still lighter than most of what I had. Folding the top down to adjust for the long length made it too hot over the torso, so I figured out to fold up the bottom by the feet instead, and the warmth level is better. Love the color, it's a slightly more blue-toned light seafoam green. I appreciate that the weave won't be mistaken for a hospital blanket... The blanket arrived in a box that tells you what it is on the outside, and was solidly packed in a plastic case. Had a little factory-newness smell to it, but I washed it right away so that didn't matter. Had the tiniest snag before washing, but it was easily enough persuaded back into the weave, and no additional snags afterwards. Haven't experienced any excess of dryer lint, but it's only had that first wash so far. For softness, don't expect silk or anything, but it definitely is comfy. Huge square blanket where any side is the best side. My room gets really hot during the summer. I used to wake up in the middle of the night just to kick off my “winter” blanket. My old blanket is now my designated winter blanket because this blanket is my official summer blanket. Keep in mind this thing is 100% cotton, it’s heavy, but extremely breathable, and not “soft” when compared to those fluffy polyester blankets. But I don’t mind the texture, I actually prefer it. After reading a bunch of reviews, I decided to go with my gut and purchase this blanket in the Ivory color. I was looking for a 100% cotton blanket with some weight, to cover our King-size bed every night during the warmer months. We live in south-central Texas, and our central air runs pretty much full time from March thru September. There were a few reviews that talked about how much lent was left in the dryer after washing, but knowing it was pure cotton, I was not concerned. Cotton initially sheds when first washed, and before using, I always, ALWAYS wash anything I purchase that will be in contact with our skin. I thought everyone did that, to be honest. I washed and dried the blanket on warm and it came out of the dryer looking and feeling fabulous! Was it slightly rough, as in textured? Yes, and I fully expected that, as it is 100% cotton!! No surprise there. There were also comments about a horrible smell. Again, another reason to wash before using, and doing so removed any hint of new textile smell. My only real concern with this blanket was the considerable number of reviews that talked about how easily it snagged. This one has me stumped, as we've used this blanket every night for a week and have seen no evidence of snags or runs at all. I should note, however, that our pets are never on our bed, so perhaps that has something to do with that. This is the perfect lightweight blanket for me. I put it between my sheet and a lightweight cotton quilt and it kept me warm. But there are hot nights when I plan to use only it. It is very very soft to the touch. My only complaint , but I did not think it worth taking a whole point off for, is the blush color is indeed more like peach as some reviews mentioned. I also like peach. What matters to me is softness, being lightweight, and size. The king size drapes almost to the floor on either side of my bed. I read there will be shrinkage, so that’s fine to.
