I was looking for foldable headphones with decent quality at a low price initially. These wouldn't be for critical listening so they didn't need to be great, just affordable. Unfortunately, I went the cheap route with a competitor on my first order and as you'd expect, I got garbage. I returned that product, added a few more dollars and was pleasantly surprised by the Mackies. Not too costly, extremely comfortable (fit great on my big head and big ears), foldable, and great tight and clear sound. Impressed!!! ... show more

Unfortunately.... I am very disappointed in the quality of the build of the headphones for the money. The hinges which are the most important for the longevity of the product are plastic, and the headband where there should usually be an aluminum support, is completely plastic! Headphones that are built for the studio, it is absolutely necessary to have reliability in those areas even if the rest of the Headphone is plastic. And eventhough the sound is ok... (not excellent), it doesn't make up for the shortfall on quality. I purchased a number of much cheaper headphones from a completely unknown and random brand, and their quality at the Exact Same price range, was a great deal higher. And I am surprised to say this. This purchase was my safety net, in case those other branded headphones were not up to standard and I ended up losing my effort in time and money, to what I expected were no doubt the base (standard) in quality in the whole industry. I am sadly disappointed 😞 ...and I want some sort of compensation. ... show more

Love the way these sounds for the price you can't beat it. Only thing I wish they added was a swivel cups. Sometimes I hold my headphones on my left or right ear with my hands or shoulders while DJ'ng when it's hot.....these won't let me do that as it does not swivel left or right. Also a coiled cable would be nice. Other than that well done. ... show more

What are these things? I got these for <$100, and I'm still astounded. Are they audiophile quality? No. Are they simply the best headphones I've ever had dollar for dollar? It's really close. I compared these to my top-of-the-line Audio Technica M70xs. The Mackies lost. I got these for $50. What's crazy? I could have 5 pairs of these for the same cost as the M70x. I could write off 4 pairs of these things, and I'd consider my dumb actions. My fifth pair? I'd have to question it. I feel like I can football spike these things and still use them. The M70xs feel like I can break them with a sneeze. There's what you need to know. TL;DR? Want a good studio headphone? Yep this one. It's only slightly worse than a pair of cans 5x the price. Both models are amazingly good headphones for the price. I was prepared to spend 3 times the price of the MC-250s on a new pair of headphones. I bought both the 150s and the 250s along with several other more expensive headphones. All went back except the 250s. The MC-250s edged out the 150s , though the latter is far and away the best value. 150s are noticeably brighter than the 250s. In some situations that might actually be preferable, such as casual listening and possibly live performance. I preferred the more balanced sound of the 250s so the 150s went back, but I nearly kept them as a spare set due to the price. Both are incredibly comfortable, especially for having relatively small ear cups- I typically wear them for several hours each day. Definitely recommended either way you go. ... show more
