  • Works well
Size: PE Color: Black
Works well with ios games that are controller compatible (Roblox and Minecraft). Joysticks are buttery smooth and the buttons are satisfying clicky. There is no rubber grips on the controller which could be good or bad depending on your preference. Pretty solid 8bitdo competitor.

  • Affordable and Mac compatible
Size: PE Color: Black
ITS COMPATIBLE WITH MAC!!!! macOS and steam supported! Nice lighting, high quality and well designed. The back mappable buttons are a plus but wasn’t a necessity for me personally. Holo sticks are accurate and fluid

  • Very responsive, the charging dock is amazing!
Size: PE Color: White
Very high quality controller. The controller itself is on the smaller side, which I like, it's not overly bulky like an Xbox controller, and the buttons are smooth and the joysticks feel great to the touch. I am a huge fan of the usb port doubling as a charger, I never have to worry about my controller being dead because as soon as I'm done using it I just place it back on the charger, that is an absolute game changer for me. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I've had some disconnecting issues with it. Randomly a few times a session the controller will just disconnect for anywhere from a second to 5ish seconds, not long but long enough to really mess up the games I'm playing. But overall the controller is amazing, and I love that it has the buttons underneath. ... show more

  • will update once I've tested it fully
Size: PE Color: White
I bought this gamepad solely because of the color, and the fact that it came with a charging dock, as well as the battery life that was advertise. Shortly after I also bought another one for my wife. I've yet to test the limits of this product, but I will update once I've done so. So far I'm VERY satisfied with the product. I will be testing it out fully with a few games and will report back with details on lagging, button performance and other related information. ... show more

  • Iffy support for Steam Deck. Worked fine in gentoo linux though
Size: PE Color: Black
This thing looks a lot like an attempt to clone an 8bitdo Ultimate controller. For me (an owner of an Ultimate) it falls short in a few areas but succeeds in many others. The biggest shortcoming for me, which I'm not going to take personally since there is nary a mention of support within the product description, is it's incompatibility with the Steam Deck. *I've had to come back to this section after further review, because though it would pair well with my (docked) Steam Deck running SteamOS 3.6.x, it does pair with my own HTPC gentoo linux machine, in all modes. The Switch Pro mode even works as it should.* The remainder of my experience with my Steam Deck follows. On my Steam Deck when I attempted to connect via bluetooth in Android mode it never picked up the controller in the scan. When connected in Switch Pro mode it is seen, connected to and paired; but then the Nintendo kernel driver fails to init the controller (a somewhat common occurrence with aftermarket Switch Pro controllers) and disconnects. In PC/Xbox mode it is seen and connected to as an Xbox Series One controller, but then the controller disconnects itself after a few seconds (no kernel messages as to why). Out of the dozen or so controllers I've tested for Vine over the past year, this is the only one that I could not get to work wirelessly with my Steam Deck. I'm sad that this is the case as it's a pretty competent controller, otherwise. Wired, the controller will work and is seen as an Xbox 360 controller. I initially ran through some gaming and input tests with it connected this way since I believed it would be my only way to test the controller. The games I tested with were Lost Castle and Hot Wheels Unleashed on Steam, and Golden Axe for Sega Genesis using retroarch. Lost Castle and Golden Axe are both good tests for D-Pad accuracy and controller input timing. Both played great. The D-Pad on this controller registers very accurate inputs. It has no problems with diagonals. There were a couple of times where a double tap got registered without me meaning to. The D-Pad is almost a bit on the loose side but I find it very good overall and among the best I've tested on aftermarket controllers. Hot Wheels Unleashed is good for testing the analog inputs and overall controller ergonomics as its usually the one I test for the longest. The controller performed very well in this game as well. I set a new lap record for the track I usually test on and came close to hitting the 'Unleashed' time despite being in one of the starter cars. Ergonomically the controller is very similar to a Switch Pro controller. It's lighter. The front is a smooth, hard plastic. The backs of the grips have stippled plastic to help keep a hold of it. The shoulder buttons and D-Pad make satisfying clicky noises. The face buttons have decent travel to them and make the normal muffled clunk noise. The analog sticks seemed just right in their travel and how far they rise out of the controller. The analog triggers have a fair amount of travel to them and the analog values seem pretty linear throughout their range. Rumble support seems pretty good. I'd call it very slightly on the strong side. Unlike a lot of modern aftermarket controllers, if there is a way to adjust rumble strength it wasn't explained in the manual. Speaking of the manual, it's your usual undersized pamphlet that has been translated, though the translation is fine. The led patterns can be changed (there are a lot of presets from solids to fades to swirls, you have to cycle through them one by one and if you skip the one you want you have to keep going until you get back to it). The led brightness has 3 settings and off. There is a hotkey on the controller you can use to have the controller report its remaining battery via flashing the home button, which is a nifty addition I hadn't yet seen on another controller. There are macro buttons on the back sides of the handles that are very well placed for middle finger usage for someone with hands the size of mine (adult male who wears large gloves, thick but not especially long fingers). **Wireless success! Alright, so I was able to get the controller working after some testing using its wireless dongle on my Steam Deck. It was picked up as an Xbox Wireless Controller (one of the X-Box Series S revisions of the X-Box One controllers). It worked well this way, HOWEVER, rumble did not work so it was still a bit of a disappointing option. The USB port on the charging station can be used for other devices. I now have my bluetooth dongle plugged into it. The charging dock is pretty light and so easy to shift around without meaning to, but it's nice that it doesn't have any blaring led lights on it like so many things do these days since it's in our bedroom. It would be nice if the controller auto-connected upon removal from the charging base like the Ultimate does. The battery life seems like it's quite good, if the built-in battery checker is to be believed. I have used it for several hours between charges and it always reports between 3 and 4 flashes (75%/full). Once I got it paired with my HTPC and found out it would work normally over bluetooth I did further testing in various retroarch games and it performed the same as wired. No latency or connectivity issues. Whereas I have an authentic 8bitdo Ultimate for the primary controller on our downstairs HTPC, I have decided to keep this one to use for our bedroom HTPC. Also, since I began writing this review my Steam Deck updated from 3.6.x to 3.8.x, so it may work now with that as well. This controller isn't quite as nice as an authentic Ultimate, but for those on a budget, it probably will do the trick. ... show more

  • Impressive alternative
Size: PE Color: White
I decided to order this controller because it was priced affordably, and I was curious to see if it was just a cheap option or if it was actually good quality at a great price. With the base included, it felt like too good of a deal. The controller features a translucent design with impressive lighting effects and includes four Hall sensors with a 1,000 Hz return rate. Available in black and white, I chose the white version because it looked more stylish, the controller closely resembles the design of the Xbox Series controller. It has a back button and a USB Type-C guide slot. The front features a transparent shell with a gradient coating process, giving it a skin-like, non-slip feel. The back shell is transparent and frosted, while the handles have a textured grip for better comfort. One standout feature is the transparent trigger button, which includes a nice RGB lighting effect. The lights are soft and not overly bright, creating a comfortable glow. While the black version might hide dirt or stains better, the white one definitely looks more stylish. The weight of the controller is around 220 grams, which feels just right, while the base weighs 80 grams. The joysticks are equipped with a wear-resistant ring, ensuring a smooth feel without drifting. The trigger also uses Hall sensors, resulting in a minimal dead zone that allows for activation with a light press. The spring strength is ideal, making the trigger very responsive—perfect for racing games. The shoulder buttons function as touch switches and require some pressure to activate, but they aren’t overly stiff. Additionally, there are two customizable back keys that feel good and are easy to press, fitting comfortably in hand. Although the button pressure is slightly high, which could be uncomfortable for extended play, it offers clearer feedback. In terms of performance, both wired, and receiver modes can achieve a 1,000 Hz return rate, while Bluetooth mode reaches 150 Hz. The controller is equipped with a built-in 1,000 mAh lithium battery, promising good battery life. It also supports PC platforms, mobile phones, and the Nintendo Switch. However, there are some drawbacks. This controller does not include a gyroscope, so it cannot support motion-sensitive games on the Switch. Moreover, the base only provides charging and no additional functionality. In summary, the Mechanic G3V2 controller offers excellent value. With its four Hall sensors, dual mode 1,000 Hz capability, and dual back keys, it boasts impressive core features. Its appealing design and sophisticated lighting effects make it stand out. The controller comes complete with a receiver and a 1.5m data cable at no extra cost. I believe this could be considered a top high-value controller in this price range, although the lack of motion sensing is a downside, for the price I'd be asking too much. ... show more
