When I opened the box I was surprised how wide the belt and buckle are: 1.5 inches for the belt itself and 2 inches wide for the large plastic buckle. The belt is also a noticeably thicker leather (about 1/8 inch) than a normal belt and has very sturdy looking double stitching down both edges. It does seem to fit through the belt loops of standard men's trousers, and has a nice leather texture. The length is very accurate as shown in the online ad. If you buy this, be prepared that you are going to get an impressively large belt for whatever length you choose when you open the package! ... show more

Buckle was good material, sturdy, did not set off metal detectors. Belt itself was made from some kind of composite blue material that had a plastic-like veneer colored to look like leather, but it was not leather. It started to split at about a month and completely gave out after about 6 months of daily (M-F) use. I would give the buckle 5 stars, but the belt itself lets this product way down. I have real leather belts that have lasted years that I still use, wish i could say the same for this. For now, just have to use a regular buckle and remove it each time i go through screening. ... show more

My dermatologist recommended that I get a belt that didn't have a metal buckle. I ordered this one at the end of December 2023. Although I could tell that it was made from inferior leather, it seemed to do the trick. Unfortunately, that didn't last beyond the end of February 2024.
