  • Great quality for a good price
Just upgraded to a new MacBook and realized it uses the MagSafe charger again. I like this style better, but it meant my old USB-C chargers were pretty much useless. I grabbed this one to keep as an extra, and it’s been great so far. Charges just as quickly as the one that came with my laptop, and the woven cable feels sturdy and well-made. The price was way more reasonable than buying directly from Apple, so I’m glad I went with this option ... show more

  • super fast and reliable
This 140W MacBook charger is the real deal. I use it with my 16" MacBook Pro M2, and it charges lightning fast—like 50% in under 30 minutes! The USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable snaps right into place, and I love the extra-long braided cord—it feels durable and doesn’t tangle. Perfect for travel or just powering through long workdays. Definitely worth the price for the speed, quality, and peace of mind. A must-have for anyone with a newer MacBook! ... show more

  • Good unit, seems lighter than OEM (smaller) charger
The manufacturers of this item copied the official OEM charger pretty good. Complete with the tuck-way plug and the detachable USB-C, the only thing I don't think these guys did was put in as heavy of a charger as it is noticeably lighter. The price is definitely right for the claim of a 140W charger. So, my commentary on that is that the only way to cut cost sometimes is to cut back on materials and this seems to be cause for concern of its longevity. It did charge my MacBook Air (MB) very quickly, about 1.5 times quicker than the OEM 65W charger. But again, my concern is for how long can it keep that up? The cable is of very good quality and the magnet seemed a bit stronger than the OEM and it has pretty good length — actually 2 inches longer than OEM. The smaller OEM charger of my MB has 2 USB-C ports but this bigger one only the single port--definitely should have added another 1 or 2 ports with all that extra "real estate". Bottom line: I’ll be using this as a backup but keeping the OEM for the road (1/3rd the size) and I’m concerned about how long this lighter charger will last. ... show more

  • Good value MagSafe cord and charging block - works like the OEM charger
I just got a new MacBook and hadn’t realized that Apple went back to MagSafe chargers (which I prefer). But this also makes my spare USB-C MacBook chargers mostly useless now. This charger is almost identical to the OEM charger and works just the same. At a fraction of the cost you get the charging block and the woven MagSafe charging cable. Definitely a better value. ... show more

  • Difficult to Tell Them Apart Honestly
Let me start this review by saying pretty much every single device in my house - and there are A LOT of them (multiple computers, phones, watches, home pod, etc.) - has a logo of a piece of fruit on it. Purpose I travel quite a bit, so I am stocking a permanent "tech travel bag" with extra chargers, cables, battery packs, etc. for all the devices that power life on the go. This way, I don't have to uproot all the things from home and resettle everything back into place every time I come back. I no longer have energy or patience for that nonsense. It's been game changing, and this is going to be a great addition to that bag for powering my laptop while away from home. First Impressions This is, of course, a knock off. That said, I tip my hypothetical hat to those who produced this particular one. They even wrapped the product in glassine, so the unboxing feels similar (though not identical) to an unboxing of a product from the company-who-shall-not-be-named. The nylon braided cord is high quality and when I handed everything to my partner who is a self proclaimed technological snob, his first reaction was "I have no idea how they got away with this" because it is so similar that it's actually quite difficult to tell the difference between the two companies' products. The main difference is in the weight of the power adapter. This one is lighter than one you'd get from elsewhere. That said, technology changes quickly, so perhaps there's something to be said for that. Charging Speed In the first 20 minutes on the charger, my laptop battery went from 32% to 65%. It indicates that it has 1 hour and 1 minute left to go. I feel like that's quite a gain for 20 minutes especially considering I've been using the laptop the entire time it's been charging as well. Had I needed a quick charge and popped into a coffee shop to get a quick boost to get me through the rest of the day of reporting or meetings, this would have done quite nicely. Connection Points USB-C to Power Adapter: This seems like a silly thing to review, but it was notably snap-worthy so I'm going to call it out. It took a bit of pressure to get the cord to snap in, so it's not going to wiggle out. When my dog inevitably sits on the cord, I'm not worried about it coming loose. Yes, this has happened with the more expensive cord. Perhaps it's an age of the cord thing, but I honestly am going to give this win to this knock off cord! Mag to Computer: Honestly, going to give the win here to this cord also. I find this magnet quite strong whereas the authentic ones can come out relatively easily if jostled about. You're going to need to use firm pressure to remove the magnet purposefully. It doesn't take He-Man, but it's not going anywhere until you want it to. I'm quite impressed. And, for those inquiring minds, in just the time it has taken me to write this review, it's gone from 65% charged to 81% charged. As we know, the last 20% take the longest for any device, but it went from 32 to 81 very quickly. It's unlikely that I'll use this one at home and make the other one my travel charger in the end because I'm a creature of habit, but it just might change my mind. ... show more

  • Overpowered, Overbuilt, and Overachieving — My MacBook’s New Favorite Workout Buddy
If chargers were superheroes, this one would be the swole gym rat who bench presses your laptop back to 100% before you’ve finished your coffee. At 140 watts, it’s technically oversized for my MacBook, which means it charges like it’s trying to prove a point. Never a bad thing to have a power supply that could probably light up a small village in a pinch. It comes with everything you need: the chunky charging block and a surprisingly fancy woven MagSafe 3 cable that screams “I’m durable” without actually screaming (because screaming cables are generally a bad sign). The magnets? Stronger than my willpower around a plate of cookies. Once it clicks on, it’s not going anywhere unless you actually *want* it to. Bonus: it’s slightly longer than Apple’s cord, which means fewer awkward “hug the wall” laptop sessions. Now, I’m still not in love with wall warts — they hog outlets like it’s their life mission. I keep an extension cord nearby to avoid playing plug-Tetris. But performance-wise, this thing is a beast. My MacBook transitions from low-battery panic to “let’s open 47 Chrome tabs” mode in record time, even when I’m still using it during charging. It’s lighter than the official Apple brick, which makes me wonder what they shaved off to keep costs down. But for a fraction of the price, it works just as well. Great as a backup, even better as your main charger if you’re tired of paying the Apple tax. If mine ever dies, I’ll probably hold a tiny memorial service — but I’m betting it’ll be around for a while. ... show more
