I am a horse midwife and teach others how to take their horse's vitals so they can communicate better with their veterinarian and identify problems earlier. Trying to find an affordable stethoscope that is also quality enough for beginners to use is difficult... I can barely use most of the cheapos out there. These, however, are amazing! I still cannot believe the quality you get for the price. I bought the purple ones to use in the foaling kits I give to my clients and they're just perfect for an introductory stethoscope. Better than some of my personal ones that were expensive! Hope to buy more of these again for future clients. My only complaint is the hard ear pieces but they do the job. ... show more

Lots of nurses go for the famous name stethoscope. I never found a need to spend a fortune on one. Been an RN since 1990. Have always purchased this brand. Lasts for years. Highly recommended. Especially if money is an issue, this is an excellent choice.

    • Great for Moms Who Want to Acclimate Their Children to Doctor's Visits
This product works really well for our needs. I am not a medical student. I have very little medical training (CPR, First Aid, AED, and Oxygen... none of the big stuff.) I simply have a toddler who HATES going to the doctor's office. So I had the radical idea that maybe if he experienced the same non threatening experiences at home, he might be a little less traumatized when he experiences the same things at the doctor's office. I'll let you know how that goes next month. So far, this stethoscope has a clear sound and it is durable enough to withstand a seventeen month old little boy. I purchased another, lighter weight stethoscope for my son to use while I practiced listening to his lungs and heart with this one. Our plan is to bring his with us to the doctor's office. The link to that one is listed below. That one is definitely of a lesser quality, but it works and it is excellent for a toddler or child to use. This one is great for moms who either want to join me in my quest to calm toddlers in times of peril or just want to listen to their baby's lungs.
