Bought this reel in 500 size when I came across it while looking for a couple spinning reels. I usually stay under the $100 mark for spinning reels and I was like what the heck , it’s $16. I’m always looking for items that are overachievers for the price . Well I will say that the reviews don’t lie. This is one reel that punches way above its price. I’ve only fished it 4 days and I’m impressed. Drag is smooth and it reels smooth and cast well. I put 4lb test on it and used for crappie. I purposely used it more than my better reels just to see how it did. It’s only 4 times but it worked a lot of fish and there’s absolutely nothing to complain about, especially for the price.time will tell,but, I wouldn’t hesitate to give it a try. Nice 4000 reel. A whole lot of reel for the money. 10 ball bearings and 26.5 lbs. of drag. Handing offers this reel in 5 different sizes so you should be able to dial it in and get one that will be perfect for your application. The reel is ambidextrous so no need for a lefty to suffer. Spool capacity might be a little smaller than I prefer but I fish Lake Michigan. For most people the capacity is probably fine.I really like the oversized and soft touch EVA knob. ... show more
