Bought this reel in 500 size when I came across it while looking for a couple spinning reels. I usually stay under the $100 mark for spinning reels and I was like what the heck , it’s $16. I’m always looking for items that are overachievers for the price . Well I will say that the reviews don’t lie. This is one reel that punches way above its price. I’ve only fished it 4 days and I’m impressed. Drag is smooth and it reels smooth and cast well. I put 4lb test on it and used for crappie. I purposely used it more than my better reels just to see how it did. It’s only 4 times but it worked a lot of fish and there’s absolutely nothing to complain about, especially for the price.time will tell,but, I wouldn’t hesitate to give it a try. Bought this (size 4000) to build a budget surf spinning combo . I got this on sale for about $15, spooled with 15 lb mono and combined a $30 8 ft danco surf rod from bass pro. It's not the most high end feeling reel but looks good and has survived so far (rinsed off carefully with a tightened drag after each day in the surf) It's survived it's first saltwater trip and caught several small fish .
