The media could not be loaded. I ended up getting the M1 4K Elite. In fact I loved it so much I got 2! Both have 38mm Power Knobs and Soft Steel mono line all from Amazon. Reel was meant for fresh but works well in salt as well. I love that thick bail wire! Thinking of getting the 1K for ultralight bait gathering. I’ve purchased over a dz Handing reels since they came out from the Grays, to the Blacks & now the new 1-4K Elites. Fantastic value and easy to cast. Not heavy and the HD bail wire means I can place my rig down with no scratches. Didn’t hurt my wallet and it looks sharp on my Handing rods.

I truly stand behind handing products but with this its Not nearly the quality I was expecting coming from handing I have every size of their original m1 reels and almost every series of rods they have made the past few years and I expected the elite To Be A step above. That is not the case it feels like a much cheaper made reel and I'm not impressed. I do not recommend this one.. Go with the 1st M1 reel or the pro. I do alot of fishing and believe me this is not a reel to keep around when there are sooo much better in the same price range..

This is a decent little reel that I’ve enjoyed using. The problem is that I think it’s a budget reel that presents a poor value. There are far better products available from major brands for in this or lower price ranges. The Good: - Drag works well and is strong. I unexpectedly reeled in a large snapping turtle yesterday without any issues. - Looks like a premium reel in some respects - I like the rubberized thumb grip (I hate EVA grips) - Generally performs well when it comes to reeling in fish The Not-So-Great: - The reel handle feels super plasticky and cheap to me. Instead of a knob to unscrew the handle, there’s a little plastic disk that also feels cheap and that’s super easy to drop. - There’s no anti-reverse lever on the 1000 - This feels heavier and bulkier than other 1000-size options.

This reel is an upgrade from the cheapest plastic reels you'll find on introductory combo, and a good replacement for when your light/ultralight reel breaks and you want something for your rod. The machining is all of high quality, and the parts all move very smoothly. The bail clicks nicely and the drag seems to work well.
