These M-Audio BX3 BT's are high quality, powerful, and clear sounding speakers. They have all the connections you'll ever need, and having high & low shelving EQ's (@ 8k and 150 hz respectively) are a great inclusion at this price point. Tips: if you have something connected to the front Aux port, Bluetooth will not sound. This is understandable, and you simply need to disconnect the Aux plug for Bluetooth to work. Also remember that the more you Boost the Bass or Treble controls, (if you're Mixing on them) the more your mix will be Bass shy, and/or dull sounding on the High frequencies. All in all, these speakers are surprisingly loud and reproduce more bass than their small size would indicate. Highly Recommended, and Rock On, Brothers & Sisters! ... show more

My main considerations were the Edifier MR4, Edifier R1280DB, Presonus Eris E4.5, and these, M-Audio's BX4BT. As usual, I did my research. Compared stats and got several opinions from the audiophile scene, all of which pointed to the MR4 as the best-sounding choice. But for several reasons, I went with the M-Audios instead. First of all, I wanted Bluetooth so that both my PC and my wife's could drive the speakers. These not only have Bluetooth, but they also don't require you to change source to play them that way. In fact, you can play both sources *at the same time*, which is very useful. The second thing I wanted was power, and these are a step above the Edifiers in that regard. They're VERY loud, surprisingly so considering how small the amp is. And they sound phenomenal even when you crank them -- in fact, especially when you crank them. Punchy lows, full-bodied mids, and crisp highs. They're about 9hz shy of the MR4's bottom end, but the volume makes up for it in my opinion. They produce enough bass to piss off my neighbors, and that's enough for me when I'm working at my desk. If you want to get below 69hz, you should be looking at a sub anyway. The third reason I decided on these is that they seem to have better build quality than the MR4s, at least at a glance. They have nicely rounded corners, whereas the MR4s have squared off, kind of basic-looking MDF cabinets. The R1280BTs look beautiful in contrast, but they don't match the aesthetic of my setup. All in all, these were the right selection for me, and I'm glad I weighed all of the factors before buying. ... show more

    • Excellent speakers for computer gaming & music - aux input has shortcomings

I've been using the M-Audio AV40 speakers for 12 years, until one of the power out capacitors leaked all over the pcb. So, this set has a lot more power, and has bluetooth. What's not to like? They sound great, and have really more audio out power than you'd ever want for a computer. Pairing it with my phone's bluetooth was easy-peasie. These are, by far, the best sounding speakers for the money (that I've found). I also really like the hard plastic front, rather than the cool-looking cloth fronts that get scratched up and dirty so fast. UPDATE: After using the front-mounted Auxiliary input for a mono radio, the speakers don't work properly. Somehow the signal coming in that input messes up the internal circuitry. Amazon replaced them, fortunately, and I will get a separate speaker for my ham radio. ... show more

Had to return. Right out of the box, the speakers crackled and went in and out. After about 30 seconds, the main speaker started smoking. Highly recommend looking at other options. Now I have to go through a time consuming non-friendly return process with Amazon, because I have nothing better to do than drive to a UPS store or Kohls. This Blows!!! ... show more

I always wanted to pick up a pair of M-audio BX8s back in the day. These are obviously a bit smaller but the cone design and material quality is exactly what I was hoping for given the predecessors. I've heard hundreds of studio monitors and I am absolutely blown away and surprised how great these sound for the $$. They kick out more than enough bass for every genre I've tested so far and the bluetooth is clear/excellent range. I was really nervous spending less than $200 on a pair of monitors, but I own speakers worth 10x that and these are 100% as clear as they are. They are perfect for a mid size studio or home DJ set up, and even just as general use computer/gaming speakers I could see them being awesome, I'm considering ordering a second set for just that. ... show more
