  • Boom connector screw
Size: 1 Pack
The boom connector connector screw did not fit well. The end of the boom where the mic holder is attached has a nother scew connector. I used that screw connector to connect the boom with the main stand pole. That worked great. Fortunately the Shure mic holder fit the end of the boom perfectly.

  • Pretty good for the price
Size: 6 Pack
I find these to be pretty good mic stands for the price. The bundle came with 6 stands at a reduced price which was nice compared to paying around 30 bucks each. The stands were easy to assemble. They are what I would call average - not the cheapest which is good but not the best stands I've used either. I've currently got two of them extended almost fully for overhead mics on a drum kit and they are little wobbly with SM-57's mounted on them, but they get the job done. I feel like I need to be really careful about not bumping into them or they'll tip. The stands that I don't have fully extended feel pretty solid and sturdy and less tipping-prone. Overall I'd recommend these, they seem to be the better value I've found for sub 30 dollar mic stands. ... show more

  • Pretty darned good in this amateur's view
Size: 2 Pack
pretty good. never interacted with a mic boom before. the thing to look for isn will it support the weight of the mic and whatever anti-shaking thing when the arm is fully extended? apparently the sbility to do this separates the wheat from the chaff in boomtown. I have an AT2020 with anti wobble flutter thingy attached and it will NOT support this with the boom fully extendedj it sags down not matter how I try to tighten it. That said, everything else about it seems solid enough and the boom extends to 3/4ths its length and stays. At any length more than 1/2 it sags a little bit past where you thought you had tightened it, but you compensate in your adjustments, then it stays there OK. Maybe a pro would say no boom is meant to be extended all the way, so there you go. I truly have no idea. I know I took the Amazon Basics one out of my cart when people complained about it sagging at any length with a good microphone and I am glad I did. Anyway, you only need the boom arm extended to the max if for some reason you can't place the tripod fairly near what they call the talent, in this case, my mom. the rest of it is A++. knobs, balance, height, adjustability, a well thought out design which will not leave you cursing your decision and will allow you to get things just right ehich it turns out is harder than you think or at least than I thought. Four and a half stars from me. ... show more

  • It is excellent for what is
Size: 1 Pack
I selected this stand for my home recording studio. I've used many mic stands over the years. This I would call a "medium duty" mic stand. It is excellent for what is... an affordable mic stand that is of adequate strength materials, for home use. I would not risk a less expensive mic stand. This one had held up well for the last 20 hours of sessions. While the metal is sturdy enough, the plastic parts seem the be vulnerable if treated roughly. This stand is sturdy enough for home, but I would not want to rely on it for a stage where it might be subjected to some rough handling. The apparent counter-balance is not of sufficient mass to offset a heavy mic. However, it's easy enough to hang something the keep the balance. I use loops of mic cord, loosely, and my bulky mics hold up fine. I feel like this mic stand is a good value, and I plan to buy another. But nobody touches the equipment but me, so I can get away with a stand that is not heavy duty. For home use, I think it's a good balance between price and quality. ... show more

  • Another GREAT VALUE!!
Size: 1 Pack
Putting my home studio back together, I needed a mic stand. Was looking for something reasonably priced, the LyxPro Tripod mic stand seemed to fit the bid. My mechanical skills are average at best (yes, I am one of the guys that will try to put it together before reading the instructions smh), but I was able to put it together with ease. it came pretty much assemble though. Attached the boom and I was impressed. The boom rotates 180 degrees, so it is possible to use it straight up and down without disconnecting the boom arm. Comes with cable management clips. I'm using a MXL-770 Mic, which weighs approximately 1lb. with the boom arm fully extended, it doesn't tip over, and im not using and weights or sand bags. The key is to only extend the boom over one of the tripod legs. Do not extend out between legs, it will tip over. This is not a high dollar mic, but if its just for home use, you're just starting out and/or you are on a budget, it's a great mic stand. ... show more

  • Not for professional use.
Size: 2 Pack
These are good for podcast setups, but not live stage use. You cannot use a heavy microphone, the arm will start to slip and fall, if you tighten the arm to much, the plastic will break. I have to use a weight on the arm to keep it from slipping, and a weight on the feet, otherwise it'll fall right over. It looks like a pro mic stand, but doesn't perform like one. ... show more

  • More sturdy than the "music shop" mic stands
Size: 1 Pack
I purchased a stand from a large music store. Stripped the screw on the neck boom in two months. I purchased this unit because it is more "heavy duty". It's the same size as the cheaper ones, but the gauge of the tubing is heavier and the important tightening screws on the boom are better designed. Only used it for 1 gig and several practices so far but there is a big improvement from the cheaper stands. Time will tell if the screws strip on this ones; I am hopeful ... show more
