I am not new to wig wearing but I always seem to come back to this particular wig by Lydell. I've had it in about 5 colors over the last 5 years. This gray is spot on to my hair now. The pros are you can style it in many ways including wearing a headband or putting some color in it, rooting it, putting product in it cutting it if too long, or thinning it out., there are tons of videos out there for any help or questions about wigs. This is a shag, and it hasn't gone out of style in over 50 years just like a pixie, there's different versions of both but it's a shag, you can rock it or tame it down whatever suits your personality on a chosen day of the week You can replace it every several months if you are wearing it a lot and not worry about having to spend a lot of money, The cons are: It's heavy, has a lot of permatese and it runs very large, that's it. If anyone has been wearing wigs and is reading this they will know that both Rene of Paris & Noriko have a lot of permatese, they can be heavy depending on the style and they have the same type of hook adjusters as does Estetica wigs and they also run very large, all of those are not $20 and usually start at on sale $100 or more. There is plenty of hair here and volume but again you can thin in out or just use your hands to smooth it down. For $20, no one can go wrong, of course color is everything and that is always the hardest part, but Lydell does have quite a selection in styles and color, so for anyone to write a negative review its because they either expected a $200 wig or maybe they just got a bag one which even happens with $200 wigs. Just like anything else in life you can buy your clothes at secondhand stores or shop Walmart, it's all in how you style it, what your sense of style is and confidence. Color is perfect, style is perfect. But the sizing is super big. If you are wearing it over a full head of hair you will be fine. But for smaller heads, or heads without hair I would not recommend this. Even adjusting the tabs (which don’t stay well) it’s still too big for my head. Disappointing because otherwise I really like it. I just wish it would be made in a smaller size for petite heads. ... show more

This was my first wig in years! The color, highlights, texture and style on this wig is beautiful! I had no idea how much I would love it!! I thought since it was so cheap that it would look cheap and wiggy, and I would need to do some work on it at the very least, but I didn’t have to do a thing! I wore it to work and my coworkers were amazed how good it looked, said it made me look 10 years younger and I agree!! It was a perfect match in color to my real hair so I am able to pull out some of my hair along the edges and bottom to make it look more real! Everyone thought I had my hair done! It takes me half the time in the mornings to get ready for work! I don’t have to worry about bad hair days! I live in the south so there are plenty of bad hair days!! Great to take on vacations! I love it so much that I ordered another exact one for when this one is worn out! Within a week of receiving this wig, I have ordered 3 more wigs in different styles and colors, I told my friends they may never see my real hair again!! Lol There is only one thing I would change about wearing wigs, they say they only last months and I like mine so much better than my real hair that I want to wear mine every day!! ... show more

I really like this wig! It is definitely poofier and fuller than it looks in the advertisement, but honestly, I ended up loving the extra volume. It gives the style a fun, youthful, sassy look. The layers are cute and can be finger-styled to give it even more texture and movement. The brown color with the highlights is really pretty and looks natural. I also love how the layers frame my face. It did need a little playing around with when I first put it on, but once I shaped it with my fingers, it looked great. If you like a fuller, shaggy style with lots of personality, I definitely recommend giving this one a try! ... show more

This was the very first wig I ever bought. It was after much study of very expensive to very cheap. When I saw the style I was attracted to it. I began to read the many reviews and became convinced to try it. I am in LOVE !!! I have actually ordered at least 5 ...all i the same color , just because I also learned in my studying that wigs last months not years as I originally thought. I still wear the first one , but because I wear them daily they do show some wear. I trade them out according to where I'm going and what I'm going to do. I put on a new one when going to a special event. I wash them after about 12 or probably more wears and that refreshes them. I use cold water and a small amount of Woolite to wash then rinse well and put them in cold water with small amount of fabric softener...I learned that from a long time wig wearer. I let them soak a bit in the fabric softener water then do not comb nor wring them . Just let drip til you can gently hang them up to dry. They return a softer texture , because the" IT STAYS" { Helpful to hold the wig on or in place....actually I very seldom need this...but if out in the wind I would surely use )!!! is washed from them and also the "Got2beglued"is cleansed from them. They help keep any fly a ways down..and to help style the wig. I also learned that some wigs come with bendable tabs on the tabs in front of the ears and this wig did not have them so I got my Husband to cut off two bobby pins to the right length to clip down under the hair of course and curve them towards my face some just to help that hair remain in that position on my cheeks. It works !!!! Try this wig...I've ordered several others since but have been disappointed with every other one so far sadly . I have curly frizzy hair and always have taken so long trying to get it to look decent and then be so disgusted with the results ...I get ready now so much faster and get compliments on my hair !!!! I was telling people it was a wig , but was told by some that they never would have known it if I hadn't told them , so now I just accept the compliments and the ones that are trying to figure it out LOL !!! My mother wore wigs, never thought I would. I am fortunate I've always had very healthy strong naturally soft wavy hair. Never had a perm, coloring or even a blow dryer has touched my hair. But when my husband was diagnosed with cancer my hair began to fall out in massive handfuls. Again I was lucky because I also had very thick hair so a few years passed with hair falling out before it began to show signs of bald spots and thinning. I'd been toying with the idea of shaving my head bald. Hubby said "just do it, hair grows back". But only this week I had the courage to do it and well, it looks hideous on me (I've seen many women who are gorgeous w/bald heads, I am NOT one of them!) but had hoped I'd look beautiful. Anyway got this wig today and I really like the style and color. I feel it looks fake but I have no choice now unless I want to go out bald which would be fine if I looked fab, which I don't. Maybe it looks fake because I know it is, maybe to others not knowing me will think it looks real. But for the price I am pleasantly pleased and surprised with how well it looks and also seems well made. I didn't wash it before trying it on and wore it a bit too, so kinda worried about that. I should've washed it. Oh well, too late now. I think this wig is well worth it's price. Update: After wearing a few times (about 4 times thus far) the hair is falling out. Also when the wind is strong the hair is layered so thinly you can see the cap. Quite embarrassing. Brushing it more hair falls out so not sure how long it will last if the hair keeps falling out. I LOVE the way this wig looks. I can wear it as a wig or a topper. Problem is the cap size is too small for my average to large head AND there is only an adjustable band. No combs or clips. There is also ALOT of hair. I'm new to wigs and hear this is common. It needs some thinning out and maybe if clips are added it can be worn as a wig (not topper) unless the cap is larger too. If this style (a shag like Joan Jett) came in a larger size and a better way to secure it, I'd give it 5 stars and buy 3 in slightly different shades. I got Dark Brown which matches my thinning hair's natural color perfectly. ... show more

I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised by this unit! I wear wigs all the time and own dozens and dozens and I enjoy changing up my look often. I do not like units that look really cheap and look like they are strictly used for Cosplay. This unit did not appear that way. I ordered the Burgundy color and the color is gorgeous! The cap construction is pretty standard but this unit does not have any lace to cut, no lace parting space and no combs. I would say the cap size is "average" with an open weft. I would not consider this to be "big head friendly" or for someone with a lot of hair. The positives are: the color, cut, layering and ability to style The negatives are: the amount of shedding!, lack of lace or dark rooting. But considering this is a synthetic unit, that's what you get. You cannot dye this or apply products that are meant for human hair. Stick with products that are meant for synthetic fibers. Temporary coloring sprays should be fine. Personally, I just used a black "Sharpie" in the areas that I wanted to look rooted or where there would be a part. This is truly a "shake and go" unit and if you have some finesse, you can really make it work for you. Don't expect this to last forever but in my opinion, you will get your money's worth. I might even order another color? I only gave this 4 stars because of the shedding and it's not a "WOW!!" unit..but definitely nice and worth purchasing if you want to switch up your look. ... show more
