I sleep very hot and overheat easily in general. Summer I keep my house at 68-69F at night and 71F during the day. I discovered bamboo sheets a few years back and have used nothing else since. It dawned on me to search for a bamboo blanket since I love soft and cool bamboo sheets so much and stumbled across this Luxome blanket. It's been recommended on several websites dedicated to articles on cooling blankets. I knew that if I didn't like it and wanted to return it that I'd have to pay a restocking fee so I took time to really sit with the potential splurge. I was also worried about shrinkage after washing. But, after weeks of a bit more research I finally decided to give this one a try. The difference between this and any other bamboo blanket I found is that luxome is bamboo fiber filled. I always stay away from polyester and down alternative stuff because it always made me sweat if I didn't have the A/C low enough. Well, turns out this was a great purchase. Not only did I not feel overheated, it was so incredibly soft and cozy feeling. It felt like I was wrapped in a cloud. I did wash before use as per the instructions, albeit I added small handful of fabric beads (I won't next time because it doesn't need it). I dried on extra low setting and I didn't notice much shrinkage. I bought the King size for my Queen size bed and there's enough draping on either side of the bed. It's a heavier blanket than what I'm used to sleeping with, but it's not hot, which is key. The weight of it is actually kind of comforting. This is not the weighted blanket, though I know Luxome has one. I tried the Rest blanket prior to this purchase and didn't love the material. It honestly felt like a nylon/polyester Halloween costume material to me - it felt very odd and I had to return it. This may not work well for ALL hot sleepers, but it worked well for me and on top of that it feels very luxurious. It's worth a try. *********UPDATE 1 YEAR LATER********* I have washed and dried this blanket many times in the past year and there is no change from my original review. It has held up and washed/dried well over time as I follow the care instructions on the label very closely. I even bought a second one for my guest room and my guests have been so impressed by it. A couple even asked me about it and ordered it for themselves on the spot. I do switch it out with something a bit warmer during NE winters, but this blanket is perfect for me in the summer.

While the price is high it does make perfect sense. While it’s cooling it has the advantage of being insulating. When you get warm you will keep it. The look of charcoal was so gorgeous. The blanket is thin and is, by no ones definition, a voluminous duvet. It’s a sleek comfort. That viscose breathes like no other.

If you want a very lightweight comforter and keep your room warm at night, then this is a great buy. The material itself is nice and is smooth. The only problem is that it doesn't keep heat in. It functions mostly as a "pretty cover". If you get cold easy, stay away. Unfortunately for me, the AC in my house cools my bedroom better than the rest of my house and that makes my room a few degrees cooler than the rest of the house. At 70F, using this blanket alone results in a shiver fest. The nice material is covered up by a second blanket, defeating the purpose of the lightweight comforter.

This is a comfortable blanket. It's lightweight and originally held up really well to regular laundry. Fits normal sized washer and dryer so it's easy to wash. Now that I have owned it for nearly a year, it's definitely showing that it's not going to hold up long term. Following the care instructions and washing it an average of every 2 weeks (we have animals, so...) it has shrunk significantly. I'm talking it's shrunk by at least a full bed size. Bought the King and now it's the correct size for the Queen spare bed. Was $205 when i bought it and the value hasn't held up enough to have me spend 10% more (current price $225) to replace it with another. Color has held up well and is what I expected from the pics. Will be continuing to search for the elusive perfect comforter.
