Update... I just installed a second one as the experience with the first one is very good. I know the idea of a bidet in the USA is foreign. And it seems yucky and it seems taboo . But it's not. It's awesome. I barely use wet wipes anymore and a roll of TP last 3x longer. Its weird. But awesome. Lolfr This said... For this bathroom it is impossible to get the hot water line to the sink fittings. The toilet is across from the sink. Not next to it. So I went through the floor to the hot water copper pipe. My plan was to use a saddle tap fitting just like the kind you would use to connect water or an ice machine to your fridge or freezer This did not work. The water line tubing from the kit... The tubing was a hair too small. Even though it was 1/4 it was too small. Using the tubing/hot water line that came with this bidet was too thick for the saddle fitting. I even tried widdling the end with a utility knife. It just did not work. I finally gave up and I cut the copper hot water line that ultimately goes to the bathroom sink. I installed a 1/2 T-fitting, reconnected the line to the sink and the added an on/off valve It was a total pain. What should have been 20 minutes took 2 1/2 hrs. If only a properly sized saddle clamp or tubing was in the parts bag this would have been a super easy and quick install I plan on pinging the seller about this. So... Plan this out if you are going to but the plus version or the one that has hot water options. I hope this helps others. Once it was installed though... I got several smiles from the others in the family. I'll say this too... If you suffer from going multiple times a day and you feel pretty raw at times... This will change your life. As I also said .. I barely use wet wipes and the amount of actual TP has been dramatically reduced. I'm soooo very happy with this thing. I recommend it highly And now for my original posting... Removed 1 Star due to the lack of s saddle tap fitting. First... You will need pliers or crescent wrench or something. The enclosed wrench is worthless and it doesn't fit your existing water connections Other than that the install was very straight forward and easy to do I was HIGHLY SKEPTICAL that this would fit under my existing toilet seat but it did. A pleasant surprise The notion of not needing to remove your existing toilet seat to install this unit is dumb You definitely want to remove it do you can thoroughly clean. I had seen some people ask how you ensure warm water since the water in your pipes cool especially in colder climates. The nice thing about this PLUS UNIT is that all you need to do is turn the temperature dial to warm and the TYPE dial to cleaning and run it fir 30 seconds before you do your business. Using the clean setting is easy. It does not spray all over so that's great. And I saw others ask about the strength of the water jet It is adjustable. The on/off is a lever. So you can adjust the intensity without issue. Just need to get used to it I cannot comment on the female hygiene feature. I cannot comment on the longevity or ongoing usage as it was installed just today. Because I had route the hot water line through the wall to got to the sinks on/off valve it took me about 2.5hrs to install Had I went purely surface mount or had I gone with a Cold water only unit... Install would have been about 30 mins. Maybe less. In conclusion you will need a pair of channel locks or pliers. What they provide as a wrench is worthless. I also recommend spending 1.00 at your local hardware store and get a better quality Teflon tape fir all the different pipe threads. Finally you'll also need SUPER SHARP scissors or better yet a utility knife to cut to length (keep it loose though) the hot water tubing. You must do a clean cut you you might have a slow drip and you do not want that I hope this is helpful If I find that I like this and the family does too... I'll get another one for the second bathroom. ... show more

    • Clever design; a little flimsy; one pet heads up

We love the flip up feature of the unit to make cleaning easier. The slide in design also was a little bit of a time saver as the seat did not have to be completely removed. And out existing seat fit just fine. The kit came with everything I needed - cold and hot water supply lines, t-adapters and nut/washer fittings, etc. You may encounter existing issues with your current plumbing that causes issues when you install it, though, which is no fault of this product: for example, 1) the existing cold water toilet tank supply line was solid aluminum and that supply line really needs to be a flexible line so I had to buy a new line to replace it; 2) my hot water shut off valve from the sink where I was feeding the hot water line from was no longer functioning, so I had to shut off my main water supply line for the home and I also then replaced that hot water shut off valve. The install was pretty simple if you have at least some prior experience successfully working with your own home plumbing such as a faucet install. Aside from closely reading and following the instructions (they are well written) - here are some add’l tips: 1) Buy extra Teflon tape; it comes with some but I used more; 2) watch a few videos first about installing it - so you get a feel for what you will need to do, and to understand precautions you should take; 3) have 2-3 large bath towels ready to lay down as you disconnect lines and such - it saves a lot of hassle and cleanup to just have the towel ready under the areas where you are working to it catches water draining out from gravity. 4) After you get it all installed - don’t put everything away or back in its place - check all fittings for leaks - and then stay there and continue to check for leaks. Two items to be aware of: 1) the control arm is pretty flimsy. Maybe it’s designed that way so it flexes if it needs to but I wish it was the other way where it was super rigid and reinforced - one wrong step getting into our shower and the arm will definitely snap in two. 2) I wish the lever that controls turning the bidet’s spray on was designed so it automatically “seats” and shuts itself off. That is, currently, if the lever is moved to spray it stays in that position and continues to spray until you manually move the spray arm lever back to off. We have a nosy cat and I could definitely see him - or if you have a dog - either bumping it or playing with it, which would turn it on and it would stay on spraying until it was discovered. ... show more
