  • wish I'd done this years ago...
Color: Blue/White
The seller was 2Go Products LLC (fulfilled by Amazon). I paid 33 bucks. ====================== INSTALLATION ====================== To make sure it would fix my toilet, I visited the Luxe Bidet website before buying it, clicked on FAQ, and read "How far does the bidet extend from the side of the toilet?", which has a diagram with measurements. My toilet is oblong, not round. It fits great. It was easy to install. It took me 30 minutes or less. I did not need the "flexible water supply hose" (the one with the larger connection on one end), since my toilet was already had a hose connected to the cold water supply. I was careful NOT to over-tighten any of the connections. For the t-adapter to the toilet base, I hand tightened only, so it was snug. For the water supply to the t-adapter, I hand tightened only, so it was snug (my existing hose "nut" was plastic and ribbed for hand tightening). For the "flexible metal-braided hose" to the t-adapter, I hand tightened and then used a wrench to tighten only 1/4 turn. For the hose to the bidet, I also hand tightened and then used a wrench to tighten only 1/4 turn. No leaks. However, just in case it develops a leak in the future, I also purchased a "Rubbermaid Roughneck 10-Gallon Storage Box" for $7 at my local superstore, and placed it next to the toilet under the bidet. It sits under the valve part as well as the metal-braided hose, which loops down toward the floor in my case. The storage box fits perfectly between my wall and the toilet, it is out of the way, and it should catch any slow leaks that might occur in the future. What about the plastic t-adapter? Some folks complained that the plastic t-adapter appeared cheap. I'm accustom to plastic parts in my toilet water tank, and I felt that the t-adapter was thick/sturdy enough. My existing cold water supply hose is plastic and so is its connection to the toilet. The male connection on the Luxe Bidet is also plastic (the connection where the "flexible metal-braided hose" fits to the bidet itself). I situated my bidet against the back of my toilet, and I made sure that the toilet seat plastic screws were tight (so neither the bidet nor the toilet seat would move from side to side). Since my toilet is oblong, I don't have a problem with the toilet seat sitting above the toilet after installing the bidet. The seat angles down from back to front, and the front rests on the toilet. Although there is a gap between the seat and toilet in the back and in the middle, it is not a problem, since the front of the seat rests on the toilet. ====================== USING THE DEVICE ====================== I have my toilet water supply valve opened fully for maximum water flow into my toilet (so it flushes properly), so I have plenty of water pressure for the bidet. For the bidet water control knob on the bidet itself, I turn the knob 1/4 inch or less to get the right amount of water that I need to clean-off. So, for my water pressure, I don't have to turn the knob very much. The diagram on the control has 5 settings: off, and 4 dots between low and high. I don't go past the first low dot (the dot next to off). The water spray is wide (not a fine pin spray). It's like the stream of water that comes from a drinking fountain. I don't use toilet paper anymore. Instead, I pat myself dry with a small towel, which I hang on the toilet roll hanger. Since the bidet water gets me clean, the towel also stays clean. What about using cold water to wash-off? It's not a problem for me. It's not like I'm taking a shower in it. It's just a small part of the body that gets hit with cold water. That brings-up another topic... It's fast! Using a bidet is faster than using toilet paper. Sometimes with toilet paper you can get away with a couple of wipes, but most of the time you can't. With the bidet, it takes the same amount of water to wash-off each time, then pat dry, and you're done. Much faster and more consistent than using toilet paper. And of course you get cleaner...less likely to mess-up your underwear. Some side benefits... No more stopped-up toilet due to using too much toilet paper; most of the time that was not a problem for me, but now it can't happen. Less smell--probably because I'm not repeatedly exposing soiled toilet paper to the air. ====================== OTHER INFO ====================== Originally, I was apprehensive about buying an add-on bidet like this, because I was concerned that it would fail, and cause substantial water damage to my home. However, none of the reviews on Amazon for any of the Luxe Bidet models mentioned something like this happening. Based on my experience with the Luxe Bidet, I'm not concerned about it. It appears to be a well-made, quality product. My main motivation for buying a bidet was to stop buying consumables like toilet paper (to save money). Based on the price I paid for the bidet, the cost of toilet paper in my area, and the amount of toilet paper I normally use, the bidet should pay for itself in about 2 years. The small cotton towels I purchased for drying off after using the bidet only cost about 3 bucks for a pack of 9 towels. Other consumables I also eliminated at the same time were paper napkins (use small cotton towels instead), paper tissue/kleenex (use cotton handkerchiefs instead), and paper towels (use small cotton towels instead). The small cotton towels I purchased were available in 3 different colors, so it is easy to keep them separate. ====================== CONCLUSION ====================== I'm very pleased with my purchase, and I wish I had done this years ago. It's much better than toilet paper: cleaner, faster, cheaper over time, and easier on the environment. ====================== UPDATE 7/16/15 ====================== While the idea of using a small towel to dry-off worked well, I can't recommend it. Why? Because drying off with a towel does not get you dry enough. And what happens if you aren't dry enough? You get redness and a rash back there, along with slight discomfort (slight tingle/burning sensation). Think of it as diaper rash for adults! If you aren't dry enough, then fungus can grow in the dampness. It's easy to cure. Use Desitin, Lotrimin, or some other anti-fungal cream (all available over the counter). So, having a bidet does not mean that you can get rid of toilet paper altogether. It is still best to dry-off with toilet paper, since it is more absorbent than a small towel. Now I know. :-) ===================== update 2/24/17 ===================== The Neo has worked great, but I have always been concerned it would eventually leak or break, and cause water damage to my home, which would not be covered by home insurance. So, I removed the Neo. Instead, I am using the Brondell GS-70 GoSpa Travel Bidet . ... show more

  • Works great. Highly recommended

Works great. Highly recommended. Wish I found out about these things years ago. Everyone should have one. I have 3 different types of toilets, different brands, and I have tried them on both long and round bowls and these things seem to fit any toilet (except maybe one of the high-end one-piece toilets) . I also have 3 different seat designs and new-fangled bolts, and the bidets work with all of them no problem. I have had them for a few months and have not had issues with the seat cracking, etc that other people reported and have had fairly heavy people use them. These things are very easy to install and can be done in less than 15 minutes. One installation tip, which someone else posted, is to do the water connection in the back first and then take the seat off and do that part. The directions say to do it the other way around and I'm not sure why because then the bidet gets in the way when you are doing the water hookup in the back. Also, I found that I did not have to drain the tank before doing the water hookup. I just unscrewed the line from the bottom of the tank and the only water that came out was a little from the inside of the line (hose) which a towel soaks up. I agree the cold water is not a big issue for most people, in fact it can even feel good, however I do have one friend who won't use it in the winter because she feels its too cold (summer OK). I am also saving some money on wipes too but one little issue is where the water shoots. As a male I'm only interested in it shooting towards the rear, so to speak, and it seems to be aimed more towards the front, I guess for woman, so I have to scoot forward to hit the right place but then water gets all over my "undercarriage" that I have to then dry off. If you remember to scoot forward first and get good at aiming and not using too much pressure this issue can be avoided. Also, the small, round seat doesn't have as much room to scoot forward as the long, oval seats and at first I thought this was a problem until I figured out to put my "junk" up on top of the seat and then I could scoot far enough forward and keep my undercarriage dry in the process. So it's actually better than the long ones. One other issue I have with the design, and a lot of people noted, is the very narrow part of dial adjusts water pressure which is pretty strong, which is an issue with all these type of bidets (I have 3 different ones, thr Luxe MB110 is my favorite one). I also bought a metal pressure control control valve that some people suggested but that didn't help much. It can lower or even shut off the water to the bidet but it doesn't seem to increase the spectrum between low and high on the dial. In other words, go just a little past low and you are at full blast, which is pretty strong. Eventually you learn to turn the dial SLOWLY to low and wait for the water to come. I also bought the older Luxe model (MB110) which is a little less expensive and has a plastic water line (instead of the metal one they use now with the Neo 1010 because some people were concerned about the plastic but has not been an actual issue in any of the reviews I read. The plastic and the connections are VERY strong) I suspect Luxe is using a metal line now to respond to customer concerns (and have a marketing advantage over their competition) rather than to resolve actual issues in using plastic. The Neo does seems a little better built in other ways too and may last longer but it doesn't look as nice to me as the all-white MB100 due to the color and metal they added and different design that has the unit sticking out farther from the toilet (which I guess would be better for large bottoms). You don't see the metal line in the picture on Amazon because they hid it but it is very prominent after installed. The thin white line of the MB110 you don't even notice. I also bought the Astor bidet and it works pretty good and is a lot like the Luxe MB110. If you want to save a few more bucks then the Astor is fine but the Luxes look a little nicer and seems to be slightly better built. ... show more
