Was pretty easy to set up, I did have a few hiccups but that was user error and not paying attention to the direction of the pieces as I installed them. Took longer to unpackage the parts than it did to set it up. I got the taller one so I can use the underneath space for storage and it works great for that. I purchased a long bed skirt and you can't see anything underneath it. I have not experienced any squeaking, and it seems to be very sturdy.
