I had a lot of fun building this with my daughter over the weekend! Very good material and feels high quality. The instructions were easy to follow and the peices all fit together nicely if you take the time to line it up. I will give an update once I put it outside.

Positive: The LushYards DIY Wooden Bird House kit was a really fun and satisfying project! I enjoyed taking a couple of hours to put it together, and the process was both relaxing and creatively engaging. The wood is solid and feels high-quality, and the final product looks great hanging in my backyard. It has a charming, rustic look that fits nicely in the garden—and best of all, the birds are already checking it out! It’s a perfect craft for adults looking to unwind or work on something hands-on. Negative: There were a few minor frustrations along the way. Some of the parts—particularly on the bottom of the birdhouse—didn’t align quite right, which made assembly a little tricky. I had to do some extra sanding and adjusting to get everything to fit snugly. The instructions could also use some improvement; a couple of steps were unclear or contained small mistakes, which caused a bit of confusion. It’s not a dealbreaker, but definitely something to be aware of, especially if you're new to DIY kits. Summary: All in all, this is a great little project with just a few rough edges (literally and figuratively). Despite some alignment issues with the bottom pieces and a few flaws in the instructions, the experience was still very enjoyable. The finished birdhouse is sturdy, good-looking, and definitely bird-approved. If you’re up for a light challenge and don’t mind a little troubleshooting, this kit is a great way to spend an afternoon. ... show more

    • ATTRACTIVE BIRDHOUSE PERFECT FOR CAVITY DWELLING SMALL BIRDS
I've had this kit since early April. Kept waiting to make this a project when one of the grandkids came some weekend, and make it with them. Alas, the project was not to be: every time they came there were activities my wife had already planned, or there was something else more important or more exciting to do! So, I gave up. I made it myself the other day! It really is a nice looking birdhouse that has character. I am hanging it under the roof overhang of our sunroom. Though it is somewhat late now in the breeding season, I am hoping that some wren or chickadee will find it suitable for a second brood. Assembly Instructions were clear enough, though I had to think a bit at one point to make sure I was doing something correctly (I was). The wood is of good quality, and the wooden pieces were sanded well. I assembled it in three stages, allowing for glue to dry well That made handling easier for the later steps. Though, you should understand it could easily be assembled as a single project, without stages. Concerns The hole size is 1 3/8 inch, which will handle most birds while keeping out starlings and large species. If you hope for bluebirds (mentioned in the promotional text), consult the Bluebird Society of America. You'll find that bluebirds prefer a deeper nesting area than this has, and the hole size is a tight squeeze for bluebirds who prefer a bit larger entrance.
