Description

Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ300 (FZ300) is the successor to the LUMIX FZ200 (FZ200), which amazed the world with its outstanding lens performance with full range F2.8 aperture (35mm camera equivalent: 25-600mm). Expanding on the innovation of the FZ200, the LUMIX FZ300 is also capable of 4K ultra high definition which enables 4K Photo and 4K video recording. The stunningly fast F2.8 aperture with 600mm which makes it possible to clearly capture moving subjects at a high shutter speed even at a great distance has not been achieved by any digital compact camera except for the LUMIX FZ200. The splash and dust proof capability make the LUMIX FZ300 the all-around great camera for sports, outdoor and events. The 12.1-megapixel High Sensitivity MOS sensor and the new Venus Engine image processor enable users to shoot high quality images even at higher sensitivity, recording up to ISO 6400 with higher resolution and superior color reproduction. 4K is the advanced definition of video imagery that boasts stunning detail. The LUMIX FZ300 is capable of recording smooth, high-resolution QFHD 4K video in 3840x2160 at 30p (60Hz) or 24p in MP4. Taking advantage of 4K video recording performance, users can capture fleeting photo opportunities at 30 fps in 8-megapixel equivalent resolution. • Great Camera Easy Image Quality
The camera itself is truly a work of artistry. Autofocus, stabilization, optical zoom were all the qualities I was looking for in a new camera. It's great for someone who doesn't know too much about aperture settings. Set it on auto and the camera helps with autofocus on your subject. Great point and shoot equipment. Images look very clear but I find if using the zoom feature fully extended, the image may become distorted even with autofocus on. That's not too much of a big deal for me as I don't shoot subjects from a very far distance. Just keep that in mind if you're searching for a new piece of equipment and need clarity in long range shots. Now, the accessories. Let's start with the tripod. It's an adjustable height so you can take stills. Pretty self explanatory but the top connection that goes into the camera doesn't tilt so you're kinda left with just horizontal or vertical images. Not overly disappointing but it would've been nice to be able to set up and look down at a subject especially if you're taking food photos. Just an example no I don't photograph my food but if I wanted to. Instruction Manuel and manufacturer warranty included. Lens covers and the wide angle lens I haven't tinkered with but cool little accessories non the less. Camera strap doesn't seem very sturdy. I'm looking for the clips that prevent the camera from falling. That wasn't included in the listing description so I took it as a bonus. Nice because I didn't have to spend more to buy one. Camera bag is just okay. It doesn't seem very sturdy to me and after spending that much on a camera I'd like to protect it. I went ahead and found something more of my liking. Yes, I spent more money. I don't own a computer but I am considering one with the software. Seems to be a nice deal having free software with the purchase of the camera. The extra battery is not the same size. So I won't be using that because I don't want it to mess up the camera. I'll most likely purchase an off brand battery and charger that's the same size. All in all it's a great bundle and after looking at the prices for just the camera, this one stood out. Now, it doesn't look brand new as the manufacturer seal was not on the box. However, everything was there from the description and the camera is fully functional. So I'm keeping it. I've loved Panasonic for a very long time and even the first one I bought for a relative over 15 years ago is still working. That's quality workmanship. Oh I forgot about the cleaning kit. So the spray bulb, some lens wipes when you're in a pinch, and the microfiber cloth and spray. Pretty basic but it's nice to have the bundle like this. ... show more

  • Awesome camera
There’s absolutely nothing I don’t like about this camera.. went to Yellowstone and captured Bison, Elk, Eagles, Pronghorns, Bighorns.. distance shooting was no problem! Amazing stop actions and autofocus on mountains and Waterfalls.. this is a one size fits all camera. The AI+ is the favored setting for most shots. Movies are awesome; especially when I can capture stills in the movies for single photo captions.. awesome!! Best price for this camera ; would highly recommend to any novice. ... show more

  • The FZ series is excellent - but 1 possible flaw.
I really like the FZ series in general. This is my 4th? The FZ 35 I gave to kiddo. This FZ300 replaced the FZ 40 - only because I REALLY wanted a remote control shutter for bird pics. Pic1 Mrs Cardi - you can almost see the seed she is eating. I love these pics with such depth of field! Pic 2 the critters working ground clean up detail. Not catching this walking outside! Pic 3 is zoomed in on the IA (intelligent Auto?) - the main reason for the remote shutter control. The feeder is right outside the window. On the regular Auto it doesn't seem focus for close ups. Pic 4 - is again partly zoomed across the yard ... catching the bird flying in (gotta love that burst mode!). Pic 5 - All these were taken from inside behind the blinds. There are loads of settings to play with ... if and when you have the time. Just the regular Auto setting with very little tweaking of the light level works very well for me at this point. I gave it all 5* because overall it's perfect for me. But 1 word of caution: my very first FZ 35 had a problem with removing the SD card. After a few months I could not get the card out. A friend tried - he got it out with a pliers - thereby pulling something loose that would engage the lock on the card when inserted. Since then, I no longer remove the cards. I just use the cord to transfer pictures to the computer. I don't know if any other's have the problem or if it was a bad card. I just won't chance ruining another camera. ... show more

  • Excellent Camera...
Two part review 1. About the item from the seller. Camera arrived a little ahead of time, I a thankful. The packaging though is damaged from the transport, partially open. Fortunately, all the items were available and undamaged. Surprisingly, the tripod is of very high quality. I expected a very flimsy equipment. this one is excellent. Camera came with a hood, a micro USB to USB cable, a battery with charger, 2. The camera itself takes excellent picture. I am an enthusiast and has had multiple canon cameras. My last one was Canon 70D. It does take excellent picture but as always, very bulky. This camera is not a Point and Shoot. I have a Canon Bridge camera. I had no difficulty figuring out the Canon Bridge but the FZ 300 is a far more complicated system. I really do suggest watching Graham Houghton on YouTube. He has an excellent tutorial on the basic to fairly advanced function of the camera. There is a lot to learn. It is an F2.8 camera but you can still make adjustments to the aperture, ISO etc., as you do with an SLR. The camera is heavier than your regular Bridge Cam, Pretty solid feel though. The location of the controls were a lot different than Canon. It will take some getting used to. The on/off button is via a knob. I am always worried that I will brake it. The camera does seem to time out longer than I am used to, unless you turn it off manually. This will certainly use battery life. As for the battery life, I believe that it is as expected for this type of complicated system. The bundle I received did have a spare battery (and others). The Photo-video-art Suite is the older model and only comes with the codes for download, not CD. I will update this post after I spend more time with this excellent unit. ... show more
