I used this light, straight out of the box, to light up my macro shot of some Christmas décor and since I am a rookie to photography I was surprised of the quality image I was able to produce without ever having used a light, other than my camera flash or natural light, to light up any of my subject of photography. My pro photographer friends that saw my shots were positively impressed by my results. The light is very bright for it's small size and the diffuser is very nice. The warmth of the light is very nice. In my shot I did not use the warm light because I wanted to create the effect of the cold of the snow - it turned out nice, I think. The light is very easy to use as it has only 1 button and a toggle to adjust the brightness and the color of the light. My pro-photographer friend decided to get this as well over the Aperture light he bought several years back - mainly due to the quality of light and the size and weight. ... show more

    • Great, super-bright, useful little tool!
I'm surprised by how useful these have been already. I teach a Zoom class once a month, and haven't taught one since these Lume Cubes arrived, but they have already paid for themselves by being so much brighter and more compact than even any tiny high-powered flashlight I own — so they've been great for going behind the tv to change some wiring, micro-inspecting the floor after dropping a glass one evening (that broke into the TINIEST shards!), and even just using them to read tiny print on a label. I haven't used the warm setting yet, but I'm impressed with how much you can vary the temperature of the light overall. And they fit right on any standard tripod screw! Really love this product so far; looking forward to putting them to use for my Zoom class next week! ... show more

    • Coolest light ever!
As a wedding videographer this little light helped me so much!!! I have been filming wedding films for 4 years now. I absolutely love it! However it comes with many challenges and one being proper lighting. Now during the reception the lighting is typically dim with a mixture of orange and white. Yes the mash of colors drive me insane. Not to mention DJs and their multiple led lights and discoballs. It's compact, it slides right into the hot shoe of any camera. Downside to this is a microphone but I have other ways of working that out. The light is practically the size of my wallet. I love the little LED "screen" or "display" whatever you want to call it. Shows me the battery life, my kelvin levels and brightness. This light is bright! I found myself right around 50% it's not the greatest battery but it's tiny and I found myself lasting for roughly 30m at 50%. The kelvin adjustment was perfect, 5500K is perfect for first dances, maybe not that high but you get my point. It helps my subjects standout from the background as lights may be flashing or very dim. Lastly 2000-4000K was perfect for my sparkler exit. This is a very warm light, it's pitch black out and without a lens thats at least a f1.4 it's not going to turn out very well. I mean you can get by with a f1.8 being that you have some sort of lighting. This light allowed me to match the colors around and make my shot 5x better. So yes, little things could be changed and improved but understand it's small, it's not an expensive light and you just look cool using it. For kits on-the-go, this is a perfect light to keep in your bag. Excellent for those outdoor interviews to fill-in shadows underneath eyes/chin. I rated it a 4 star on brightness only because, we live in Florida, and if you're having to (NOT recommended) shoot anytime in the Summer between 11-3, there's never enough light to counter the Sun. ;-) Honestly - I would give it a 5 star for any other situation. Love the solidness and simplicity of the unit, and that you have color balance. Charges quickly and lasts a long time depending on your brightness level. I've already suggested this to co-workers and other shooters. Perfect too for illuminating an indoor background like behind an interview. ... show more

    • Wonderful light for video calls
You don't know what you are missing until you get one of these. This is the second one I purchased so I can leave one set up in my home office and have another to take with you. The clarity on your video calls is really enhanced by having a good adjustable light. If you have a short call it's battery will last for quite some while and you can pretty much set it anywhere without the charging cable. The first one I bought was the full kit with a tripod and various other mounting bits. This one was just the light, a cable and a flash shoe. I use the bits not dedicated to my desk set up for my mobile needs. I picked up this light and I've been really happy with it. I've used it on the dance floor of wedding receptions and it's been great for lighting my shot. The bicolor feature is really convenient too because I can easily adjust the color temperature to match the ambient lighting. I've also used this as accent lighting for my videos and it's been great for adding some extra depth and dimension to the shots.
