The media could not be loaded. I love these Lumary lights. I've installed them all over the house, but this one, with the color ring, I wanted in my bedroom. That's my space where I chill out and listen to music and just kind of vibe. So the color ring was what drove me to get this light for my room. Unfortunately, electricity is a challenge in that space. There are two outlets in there, and the room is built in such a way that makes it exceedingly difficult to extend power into the ceiling. So I came up with a solution and built a hexagon hanging lamp for the recessed light. I just wired it to a plug instead of wiring it to the house's electrical lines, and that worked fine. It cost a little extra money to buy plugs and cable, but it was worth it. These lights are easy to install if you have easy access to the electrical lines in the house, or if you're replacing existing lights. If you're drilling holes and running power, well, that's going to be complicated, but that'll be complicated no matter what brand of lights you choose. Installing recssed lighting from scratch is just kind of a pain, but once you have the power where you need it and a hole in the ceiling these are a snap to install and set up. You don't have to worry about cutting your hole next to a stud or a rafter. As long as your hole is the right size the light will snap right into place and clip to the sheet rock and stay there. I think the instructions tell you to fasten the electrical box to a frame board in the ceiling, but you really don't have to do that. I just leave it laying off to the side beside the lighta up in the ceiling. As long as the connections are securely inside the box, it really doesn't make any difference. Once you have them installed and powered, the Lumary app adds them pretty much automatically. Then you sync your Lumary app with Google and/or Alexa, or whatever smart device app you're using, and voila! You're up and running. Google and Alexa treat the color ring and the main light as though they are separate lamps. You can give them separate names, adjust brightness and color seperately, etc. 50 bucks is a little on the expensive side for a single recessed smart light, but this one is special. It's pretty bright, and that sound-sensitivity and the color ring is pretty awesome. These Lumary lights are worth it. For the quality and features they offer, they're all pretty fairly priced, in my humble opinion. I've installed something like a dozen of them and I've never had one iota of trouble. They work flawlessly every time. The biggest struggle I've had with them is getting power to the locations where I wanted to install them. But that's because I live in a 100-year-old house, and the builders weren't concerned with recessed lights at the time they built it. Anyway, these are great lights. I can't say enough good things about them.

The Lumary RGBAI Smart Recessed Light is a standout product, particularly for its unique and innovative lighting capabilities. I've been very impressed with its ability to transition from a bright, functional white light for daily tasks to a vibrant, colorful accent for setting a specific mood. The physical installation was straightforward and the build quality feels solid enough for a canless design. The ability to control the lights via Alexa and Google Assistant is a plus, making it easy to integrate into most smart home ecosystems and providing a convenient, hands-free experience. The one area where the Lumary light experience falls short is in its app and broader smart home compatibility. The Lumary app, while functional, can be clunky at times and lacks the polish and intuitive design of apps from more established brands. I've also found that its reliance on Wi-Fi can sometimes lead to connectivity issues, requiring a manual reset to get everything back online. The absence of Matter and native HomeKit support is a significant drawback for users invested in those ecosystems, as it limits the device's interoperability and a more streamlined user experience. While it’s a strong product for its price, these limitations prevent it from being a perfect five-star solution, as the software side of the experience needs some refinement to match the excellent hardware.

I’ve bought a few different Lumary lights and this one is hands-down my favorite. I installed it in the bathroom because I like to set a mood during long showers, and the RGB is perfect for that. The real game-changer is the ring night light. It’s so convenient for late-night bathroom trips without having to turn on blinding overhead lights. Installation was simple. No harder than swapping out any other ceiling fixture, and once connected the app gives you endless customization. The fit is solid and the materials feel durable and good quality. Connectivity was pretty smooth too. The quality of light is great, with no flicker in person or on video. There are light colors and temperatures to suit any taste and mood, and the ring accent and night light modes make this much more versatile than a standard RGB fixture. Look-wise, it feels sleek and modern. It has “designer lighting” energy without being overly complicated. I can see it working in just about any room. It’s definitely not cheap, but given the features, the lighting quality, and the versatility, I think the price is justified. I already plan to replace the rest of my master suite lights with these.

The lights are fantastic. Easy to install. The app to connect the light is also fun to use. Best thing is even after I grouped all lights together in one wiring for each room, I still have access to control each light individually. Lights were very easy to install and set up. Love the ability to control one light or entire room using SmartLife app. Color options work well too.

I installed this light in my bathroom above my jacuzzi tub. It puts out plenty of light, and there is an app you can download on your phone, which is supposed to allow you to control the different light modes and colors, however, I can't seem to get it to work. I'm pretty sure it's due to user error, but I haven't had the time to try and figure out why it won't work. For now, it turns on and off with the flick of a light switch. If I can't figure out the app soon, I'll call customer service and see if they can help.
