We searched for many hours for a small, quiet dehumidifer for our ~200 sq/ft bedroom. This model was the only standard 'compressor' design we could find that satisfied five primary criteria for us: (1) small size that wouldn't overwhelm our smaller room. (2) sleep setting under 40dB noise for sensitive sleepers (most models run at 45-60dB). (3) ability to turn off display lights to provide a dark room. (4) ability to set the desired humidity level precisely and then run automatically. (5) fast dehumidification that drops humidity levels significantly within a few hours (rather than days). No other model by any manufacturer matched this unit's combined specs in these areas, and my technical questions sent to the company received quick, courteous replies. However, anyone searching for a bedroom model should keep a few related issues in mind. First, standard dehumidiers (with a compressor), including this one, do add some heat to the room, so a small room's temp will increase slightly during operation. That could be an issue when the room is already warm. In addition, if used without a drain hose, a smaller dehumidifier like this one will fill its (2-liter) water tank rather quickly, requiring more frequent emptying, especially if used on high speed. And last, low noise doesn't mean no noise. Anyone expecting silence will be disappointed. If these issues aren't a problem for your particular application, then I believe (from my own extensive research and subsequent experience with this product) that you won't find a better option for a smaller bedroom. ... show more

    • This Machine Really Works!
I am very favorably impressed with the Luko Dehumidifier. It does what it is supposed to do and does it well. I bought 3 different brands/sizes to take for a Test Drive. Nothing even comes close to the operating efficiency of the Luko. My initial intended purpose was to keep the 36' 5th wheel camper and a 24' Car Hauler/Storage unit from developing a bad case of mold/mildew here in the NC summer. The Luko worked in both of them, amazing how much moisture it pulled out of the air. Then I brought it in the house this thing just keeps on Amazing me with its performance. I am considering it as a secondary Potable Water source if necessary. My wife noticed that she can set the Air Conditioning 3 degrees higher and it still feels cool. The Luko is simple to operate, the water tank is easy to empty and it has an external drain function that makes running it easier. All you have to do is set the Timer and Desired Humidity... My Hat is Off to the Luko Engineers! Just as soon as I get done here, I'm going to buy another one, maybe two.... UPDATE 7/12/21 After 600 Hours of Operation the Unit stops and needs to be Reset. Just Hold the Power Button down for 5 Seconds and you are back in business... I got that info from the manufacturer Luko Electric... ... show more

I researched a lot before purchasing a dehumidifier - I was looking for a compressor-based dehumidifier that was fairly quiet, but also energy efficient. This Luko dehumidifier has been great - have only had a few small issues with it so far. Here are the things I like: - Was quiet enough that it did not wake me when turning on or off through the night, having the dehumidifier running about 10 feet away from my bed in my bedroom - I like the large humidity display that can be read easily from a distance. - It has a night mode that turns the LEDs off so that the light does not disturb your sleep - Child lock mode is helpful and works well - Uses only about 160 watts while both the fan and compressor are running - did not notice a big jump in my electric bill after starting to use this 24/7. See photo showing a kill-a-watt device reading attached to this dehumidifier. Quirks and concerns: - The water collection bin is a bit small for how quickly this unit collects water - requires emptying 1-2 times daily in my situation - The water collection bin gets VERY full (see photo) - it will require laser focus to not spill the water if the sink you plan to carry it to is far away. I wish there was a setting to control this. - In order to get the optimal lowest noise from this dehumidifier, I found I need to place a 1/4" thick notebook under just the front wheels. This prevents a rattling sound that sometimes occurs when this dehumidifier is on a completely flat surface. - When this dehumidifier fills up the water collection bin, the room humidity reading on the dehumidifier display starts climbing rapidly. I can only assume the humidity sensor is close to the top of the collection bin or something. See the attached photo showing the dehumidifier with a full water bin claiming that the humidity is 74%, while my other humidity sensor says 59% (the correct reading). Don't be alarmed by this like I was the first couple of times! Once the bin is emptied the sensed humidity will return to a correct reading in 5-10 minutes. Note that I purchased 2 of these dehumidifiers - 1 of them has been going strong for 6 months, but the other one died after only 1 month of use. I was quickly refunded the purchase cost under warranty, but I had to dispose of the broken dehumidifier myself. For this reason of questionable build quality and reliability I have deducted 1 star - otherwise this has been a great product! ... show more

I was so excited to try receive this dehumidifier. I was impressed with the quality right out of the box. I like how heavy it is, so it’s stable enough to set up around pets and children. It was extremely easy to set up. You basically just plug it in and let it do it’s thing! Right off the bat, I was pleased that it ran pretty quietly. It’s actually the perfect amount of white noise to me. I let it run for about 20 mins and I checked to see if it had collected any water and IT DID! It collected a good bit too! It kinda blew my mind. I like the different settings that it’s got on the machine and there’s an automatic turn off. There is an option to keep it running and it comes with a drainage tube if you choose to go that route. I know dehumidifiers can run rather expensive so I was happy to get this one as it was more in my budget. I highly recommend this for your home, office, business, or wherever you spend time 😊. ... show more
