    • Heavy Duty Ladder, But Not As Advertised.
The ladder that I received does not have a single-button retraction feature. Both buttons must be pressed for the ladder to retract. It even says this in the manual and on the ladder, itself. The ladder is rather heavy at 30 lbs. It may be just beyond the strength capability of some people to carry, lift, extend and maneuver safely. It order to telescope the ladder it is almost essential for the user to place one foot on the lower rung of the ladder. Some, particularly those with balance problems, may find this difficult to manage. The ladder retracts in a jerky fashion, but slowly enough that there should not be any problem with pinched fingers. You may be surprised at first with the jerky motion with which each section collapses. Although advertised as a 12.5' ladder the safe standing height of the ladder is 9'-3". The manual also cautions that there should be 1m of ladder remaining when leaning it against an edge such as a roof or attic scuttle. I have already reviewed the seller, but must add that the ladder arrived two days late. When I wrote to the seller suggesting that I had been overcharged at a price of $179.29 when the same ladder was selling for $169.99 on the day my ladder arrived late, the seller responded by sending me back my invoice and saying that I ordered one ladder and one ladder was shipped. In other words, they did not address what I perceived as an overcharge. Most merchants will usually price match any price reductions that occur within a reasonable amount of time. ... show more

Well made ladder, details are nicely done. Soft close is great. Only complaints really is that it is heavy! Easily the best collapsible style tube ladder made just wish it was lighter.

And So easy to use and sturdy. You can store it anywhere. It's easy to carry. And the way it collapses and extends is really fun to use. Important: Pull from the top rung. If you try to split from bottom, it will click, but not lock.

Just want to say this isn’t 20#. It’s 25#, which makes it just a little too heavy for hauling up n down stairs. And the feet aren’t angled for secure footing. I’ll update the review when I use it.

    • Be aware. This is a 9’ ladder.
In America, extension ladders are measured by how high you can safely climb on them. For example, my 17’ extension ladder is almost 21’ long, but you can’t climb the top 3 rungs (on any ladder). I guess I should have read more carefully, but if you want to sell ladders in America, regardless of what you say in your ad, you must comply with OSHA standards. This company does not. This should correctly be marketed as a 9’ ladder, not a 12’. I don’t know how anyone can legally sell a ladder in America and not comply with OSHA standards. That said, this 9’ ladder seems strong and sturdy. It is heavier than what I’d like from a 9’ ladder and I personally had no use for a 9’ ladder so I returned it. Amazon should force sellers to comply with OSHA standards. My state also has these standards, and at some point there will most likely be legal challenges. I’ve seen pics and videos of similar ladders failing and people falling. That liability would be on Amazon in my state. ... show more

I got the 8ft model. In addition to all the advantages of a telescoping style ladder I've added these personal observations. Pro - The thicker tubing wall make this extending ladder noticeably more stable. Con - Thicker tubing means its a little heavier. Not much of a compromise IMO. Pro - Soft release latches. I like this feature since my old ladder didn't have this and you had to pay more attention to prevent pinching when collapsing. Con - none Pro - Ladder section locks in Half or Full extension. Con - This feature only works when the bottom 2/3 is fully extended (silver colored). And only the top (red colored) section has the half/full lock. Not a pro or a con but the telescoping sections comes coated in a light oil so some might find this annoying. I'd recommend this brand (or any brand) that have improved safety features. ... show more
