This is makes the room much darker than any "blackout" curtains we've ever bought. The only issue is measuring and cutting can be a pain, but after that, the result is worth the price and work.

For something seemingly so straight forward, this was a huge pita to install. Took me a few hours over a couple nights and most of that time was trial and error re cutting it. I had the problem where the radius was 36 inches left to right but from center to the top was 35 inches. So needed to cut off an inch. I knew scissors would make a huge mess so tried a hack saw...nope, then youtubed it and found people cut blinds with a miter saw. Tried that and the thing bucked back and flew in my face...frayed the end of the blind wildly. So then I had the thought of trying to compress the blind very tight to essentially treat it like I was cutting a piece of wood. Had a couple scrap 1 in wide pieces of plywood hanging around and tightly bound those on either side with packing tape so I could see where I needed to cut. I also used the miter saw clamp and screwed it down as tight as I could compressing it even more. Used a combination blade and went very slowly. Yep that did the trick. Very neat and staight cut. Looks good but since the left and right is wider than top, light shines thru but much better than it used to be. Did get a kick out of the installation video where it says if it's not fitting, fix it. Lol if only it were that easy!

Cut with scissors for a custom fit. I won't lie, I did not put them up myself. My husband interfered, took it from me and did it himself. He did swear a couple times because he didn't "need" the directions or really know what I bought. If I got to do it, there would have been no swearing. And, from reading how to do it off Amazon, directions are not needed. Mine have now been hanging for a few months. They look great

I cannot say enough just how happy I am with this shade!! We live in a very sunny state and our bedroom gets full sun in the morning. We tried to get by with just a light-filtering shade but after several months of losing sleep, I was desperate to find something that would blackout the light. This does just that! I haven’t slept so well in too long and I am just so happy to finally be able to have a dark room. We had to trim a bit off to fit our arch but no biggie. 10/10!

The install instructions were barely adequate. They show an image of a knife to cut off the extra length. It is not easy to find a knife sharp enough to cut through the multiple layers of material. I finally had to resort to using a scalpel and even then I broke three blades getting through. Also the instructions do not warn you about the gap that must be accounted for in the center. I measured my window at 35 inches, so I trimmed the shade to 17.5 inches, only to find that it would not fit properly. I had to trim another 0.25 inches . So much fun! The product does work, but the instructions are lacking!

This shade is good quality for the price. It does black out light. We have an imperfect arch, so much measuring and cutting was involved. Difficult to get straight edges. Looks great from outside, but can see imperfect edges inside. QR code in instructions leads to video of another shade, but was able to find a video online for this arch shade.

What kind of implement would be able to cut this cleanly? I can't figure out what sort of tool the average person would own that would allow for this to be cut to size easily. We struggled to cut it - we used really sharp rug scissors and a kitchen knife. It was so difficult! and the edges are ragged and look like crap.
