  • Company is great, but product is not sturdy
Size: King Color: Stone
The headboard and frame itself are very nice! The color is exactly how it appears online. The fabric is very well made as are the wooden feet on the frame. With that said, the platform is not as sturdy as we had hoped. We have a king bed (with no box spring) and both sleep on separate sides, totaling about 375 lbs. As seen in the pictures, one side of the frame completely bent to the point where the feet in the middle of the frame weren’t touching the floor. Since there is a warranty through the company, we contacted the LUCID customer service. They were extremely helpful and efficient! They sent out a new platform within 2 days of contacting them. We received the new platform only a few days later. Because they didn’t have our original platform in stock, they sent us a fully metal, folding platform. They even sent a picture of what the new platform would look like with our headboard and frame. We put the new platform in and it seems to be more sturdy. Overall, I highly recommend the company! But maybe don’t get this product if you (and your sleeping partner) weight more than 300 lbs and you don’t have a box spring. If we had a box spring, I think it would’ve been fine. ... show more

  • This is NOT a Twin XL sized frame. I just don't know how they can get this so wrong.
Size: Twin XL Color: Pearl
Well, here we are, more than 100 years into standardized bed sizes that were so set as to facilitate ALL beds and frames, no matter the manufacturer or builder, fitting one another properly, but still, it seems manufacturers today are too inept, or careless, to follow them. As is shown in the photos, this Lucid frame is a solid six inches too long for a standard Twin XL mattress. I am so disappointed, and frustrated (returning these is going to be a nightmare, and I am sure the company is banking on that, betting most people won't go through the time and physical expense of doing so). And, to be sure I hadn't somehow ordered a Twin mattress instead of Twin XL, I measured it, too, and it is 79in long, which is reasonable since a twin xl bed frame's footprint (the part where the mattress sits) should be 80 inches +/- 1 inch or so, and it confirms this frame is just plain too long for the corresponding mattress size, period. Long and the short of it is there is no way to make this reasonably work with, not without some time and money-consuming hack, either you push the mattress against the headboard and you have a giant, awkward, ugly chasm at the bottom to look at and to try to remember is there so as to physically avoid it, or you pull the mattress down flush with the foot end of the bed and you have a six inch gap for everything to fall through where your pillows are and head and hands lay while you're asleep. If you choose the more obvious choice of pushed against the headboard end and a guest is lying or lounging on the bed and don't know about (or forget about) the six inch TRAP of a gap at the foot end and they quickly shimmy down or otherwise exit out of bed the bed byway the end instead of the side, they can easily, injure themselves, as instead of their foot or feet sliding off (and onto the ground below as their brain expects because that is normal exit procedure with properly sized mattresses and frames), their foot or feet might slide off the end and right into that gap (or hit it on the end). They could get a foot stuck or scraped or ankle twisted , especially since they probably had some momentum going into it. Gaps are dangerous that way (and this is why we have industry standards!). I don't have much more to say except 1. I regret buying TWO of these for my new guest room, and 2. GET YOUR ISH TOGETHER, LUCID. It doesn't matter how sturdy or attractive something like this is, if it is sized improperly for normal and safe function then it's not going to cut it., even at this relatively modest price point. The first job and really the ONLY job a bed frame performs is to properly hold a mattress. If it can't meet that standard it's a piece of junk. This is, therefore, a piece of junk not worth your time, money, or effort. Avoid until they fix this sizing issue (which, who am I kidding, they probably never will). ... show more

  • Horrible instructions
Size: King Color: Black
To start my reason for 3 stars is pushing it. 1. No parts are labeled, but not to hard to tell which is which. 2. TERRIBLE INSTRUCTIONS! The pictures are way off causing us to assemble some parts the wrong way. No written instructions just following pictures 3. Some of the pre assembled parts (hardware) was done wrong and we had to switch them around. 4. Frame seems wobbly and cheaply made Things to know! 1. The leg pieces bolts go facing inwards not outwards like picture. 2. Wood pieces on side rails go to the top not bottom. Picture shows differently ... show more

  • Confusing to put together at first, color is darker than expected, but definitely worth the money.
Size: Queen Color: Pearl
The instructions seem to be missing a few steps and I had to change the direction of some of the parts. Luckily, a little bit of common sense goes a long way, and it was easy to figure out after looking at it for a little bit. The color was a bit darker, and almost has a slight olive tint to it, and I anticipated a more cream/ivory color. Still very cute and I do like it a lot. The sturdiness of the bed is great! No squeaking and loud noises when you move which is definitely a plus. The only recommendation I have is to make sure if you get this bed, you have a thick mattress. My 10-inch bed looks funny with a box spring but is a little too small. ... show more

  • It's nice enough looking, but it's not great. Not that compatible with their bases.
Size: King Color: Charcoal
As upholstered beds go, this one is cheap, and it is budget in appearance. It looks nice enough, but it's not going to give anyone the impresison of luxury by any means. I bought it as a surround for a Lucid adjustable base, and while it is compatible in that the adjustable bases will "sit inside" this bed just fine, it's truly just a half-build bed sitting loose around the outside of the bases. The bed doesn't attach in any way to the bases, and it doesn't havthe slats, and thus no cross--bracing of any kind to give the bed rigidity or heft...to it's basically just a headboard, a footboard, and 2 sideboards flapping in the breeze. Bump the corner with your foot, and the whole bed moves akimbo. Also, the ledge inside the bed frame that the slats attach to is just raw white wood, so it's highly visible. You have the adjustable bed base, which is nice gray fabric, then a gap, then a brigt strip of pine sticking out of the next piece of gray fabrice covered wood. The gap is unsightly, and the unfinished, bright piece of wood is even moreso. I'm going to look into covering it with black fabric tape or just painting it or something, and try to make some brackets so the bed and the adjustable base are in some way tied to one another and will stabilize each other. Right now, it's just like 2 separate pieces of furniture you try to keep lined up, even though one of them is way too light to stay put when it gets bumped. As the manufacturer of both pieces, it seems to me Lucid should be making them more compatible with each other. Maybe they can come up with some brackets or something. ... show more

Purchased this bed for my Airbnb bc I didn’t want to spend very much. It looks pretty nice, my only complaint is that it sits very low to the floor. Looks a little awkwardly low. Otherwise nice. Pretty easy to put together, did it by myself in an hour. Highly recommend using a power tool instead of the tools it comes with to save time! ... show more

  • Fairly easy to assemble but beware of wrong directions
Size: Queen Color: Pearl
I assembled the whole thing myself in about an hour and a half. It would have been less but the directions will off. The pictures for the headboard post direction was wrong, as well as the picture for the side boards middle support bar. If you follow the picture, the holes will not line up and will cause you slight panic! Also, some reviews mentioned the wood slabs don't fit far enough across. All you need to do is push the side boards in until the slabs are snug in place and then fit the screws in place. Very simple. So far it feels sturdy and secure. We shall see. My only other complaint other than the directions, was some screw or part inside the headboard fabric feels like it might pop through the fabric at some point. It was only in one spot on the side bottom part of the headboard but I'm hoping it doesn rip the fabric down the round. ... show more

  • Had a major problem but was made right by the manufacturer
Size: King Color: Stone
Was quite unhappy with this purchase when the king bed showed up with the queen hardware inside the smaller box. I called the manufacturer who said they could not send me the appropriate parts as they're all "packed up" already. The customer service woman was very friendly and understood my anger. She offered to replace the ENTIRE bed at their cost so that I could get the correct hardware. I had to take the old bed to the dump, on my time and my time. This process also voided my warranty from the manufacturer since I was "using" it to get the bed I ordered in the first place. A week later my bed showed up without issue and was set up. I've read that this is possibly an error on Amazon's part in their warehouse. If I could prove that for sure then I'd give one review. On the other hand, Zinus made things right with me, despite it costing me time and a little bit of money. All in all this was a bad situation made good by the manufacturer - but it shouldn't have happened in the first place. ... show more

Feels solid enough, using a 10" airbed with it. Warning this bed is low (6" clearance from floor)so pay attention to your mattress height. Size: King Color: Black
If you value your relationship or friendship don’t put this bed together with them. The instructions are the worst and also hidden. We couldn’t find them and just thought they maybe they didn’t come with them, so that’s probably our fault. We also didn’t have enough screws for the entire bed but it came out sturdy. Overall the bed is nice and it was delivered a week earlier than what was expected so that’s what gave it extra stars. The head board is not as sturdy as I would Like but it’s not terrible. ... show more

  • Great Value
Size: California King Color: Pearl
When I initially received this bed I was a little sceptical because initially the parts seemed rather lightweight and flimsy. However, once correctly assembled the bed frame is quite sturdy and seems to be a design that really is "a sum of its parts." We have been sleeping on our Cal King/King version for a month, using a fairly hefty 14" memory foam mattress, and the mattress coupled with our equally hefty combined 550 lbs of body weight has not appeared to cause the frame any distress. We are an older couple, so I don't know if a younger more "sporting" couple would find the frames weaknesses, but for us so far it has worked very well. The only advice on assembling the frame would be to leave the headboard crossmember off the headboard until after you attach the side rails, as the crossmember screws obscure the brackets that need to snug down on the bolts, so you have to remove the crossmember anyway, so don't bother fitting it in the first step. ... show more

  • HORRIBLE! Dont do it! Purchase and assembly of full size bed frame nightmare.
Size: Full Color: Black
Ordered this bed and began putting it together. The instructions may as well have been for ikea furniture. None of the parts were labeled except the hardware used to hold it together... two of which were mislabeled. Upon opening the box, everything was just kinda thrown in and covered in pieces of styrofoam from the 'packaging'. Got the headboard ready to go after some trial and error with the lame directions. Then the footboard. Put the side rails on as indicated... looked at it and thought... wow - that's long. But ok.. kept going. Put together the middle support with slats. Suddenly the holes dont line up where the slats should be screwed into the center beam. Head scratcher. Set the middle beam inside the assembled frame and it fits. bold it to the headboard and footboard. Of course the slats are basically too short. I lay the slats on the mattress I have set to the side. The basically fit the length of the mattress. Weird. So I lay the slats on the framework of the bed (even though the holes do not line up) then lay the mattress on top. The frame measures 85 inches from the inside of the headboard (where the mattress butts up) to the bottom of the footboard. 85 inches. A full size mattress is 75 inches. The width is perfect. Edge to edge. I contact seller and at first get immediate response. THey ask for a lot of pics and measurements and pictures of my measurements... I provide it all. 2 days later, they tell me: "With this situation, the frame itself should have a few inches towards the bottom of the bed to allow for a comforter. However, If the frame is something that you are not satisfied with, we do partner with amazon to provide customers a 30 day window for full returns and or replacements. Upon review of your receipt you are still located within this policy. I have included their telephone number below. If you have any questions please let me know. Have a great day." So, I get to disassemble their crappy frame with NO explanation of offer to fix (like immediately sending out the right size side rails and center frame). I also get to repackage this crap and work with UPS to come pick it up at a convenient time when I'm home to give it to them unless I want to chance leaving it on my front porch. Very Very frustrating. I wish i could give this zero stars. ... show more

  • A pretty and inexpensive bed for a guest room.Until it breaks
Size: Twin XL Color: Pearl
Another Update: I changed my stars again from 1 star to 2 stars, because I contacted Lucid, and I was completely reimbursed. I had to send photos of the broken bed, along with my proof of purchase. I was kindly sent a check. I'm grateful about that. Thank you, Lucid, for not making this more difficult. Update: This twin XL was for my guest room. It has barely been used. It’s been slept in, easily less than a month. My son has been visiting over the holidays and he is 6 feet tall and about 195 lbs. the slats under the bed broke. He came downstairs this morning and told me that he had to put the mattress in the floor. So now I’d give one star. Just assembled bed and it’s lovely. I don’t know how well it will hold up though as it hasn’t even been slept on. I included a photo because had I known before buying, I would not have gotten a 10 inch mattress. Due to its thickness, it hangs over the end/foot a bit. If the mattress had been thinner (8 inch or less) it might have tucked under the headboard a bit, and would not have hung over at the foot of the bed. I’m sure a bed spread will cover this. Assembly was fairly simple. I have assembled a LOT of furniture and this bed had a few very minor issues. Holes did not line up well so some screws are somewhat at an angle and do not feels as secure as they maybe could. All parts were there, nothing missing. It was packaged well so that there were no scratches or damage. It is an inexpensive bed for our guest room so I am happy with it. Will it last for years with daily use? I am uncertain. Its a bit flimsy maybe. ... show more

Size: Queen Color: Black
Bought this to have some sort of headboard to go with a Lucid adjustable bed. The instructions don’t tell you how to mount to an adjustable bed. And I had to rig it up differently to work. Still not perfect. I bought this brand so it would “go” with the adjustable bed. Wasn’t impressed.
