4 stars because great quality, just not a good fit for us. I bought this for my sons first “big kid bed.” It was easy to unwrap. No bad odors. It says plush but is still pretty firm. My son is 3 now, we have had it from May 2021 to now Jan 2023 and I’m going to replace it. We can’t sleep in his bed with our son when he wakes in middle of night or is scared of something without three days of aches and pains (at least 3.) He flops all over bed and hates sleeping in it. If you like a firm mattress this is for you. My husband and I have a sleep # bed my and I sleep on a pretty soft setting. Husband is on a medium setting and he also says the mattress is not very comfortable at all. I hope this helps anyone who is on the fence about getting the plush versus firm! I can’t imagine how firm the firm actually is. PS… there were no bugs on ours. When I bought this I read reviews saying there were bugs. ... show more

1st off, the mattress is far better than expected. It's perfectly firm. If you desire a specific size (8"in my case) get the next higher size to be more accurate. I.e. if it says 5" go for the 8" etc. That's my only minor gripe. My husband weighs 230lbs he wakes feeling way better than expensive serta memory and cotton bat futons. This is my second Lucid mattress - I upgraded from my full purchased years ago to this queen. It's a great balance of comfort - soft without allowing you to sink in too much. I sleep on both my back and my side and both are comfortable with the "plush" model, even though I usually gravitate towards firmer memory foam. I really wanted a fiberglass-free mattress, and it's really hard to figure that out - however, I don't see any tags that say "do not unzip" that typically suggests fiberglass filling. Unfortunately, one end of the bed didn't expand, and still hasn't after a month of airing out. The corners on that end are particularly bad - they only expanded to 4" - but that whole end got no thicker than 7". I contacted Amazon about it and they refunded me without asking me to try to somehow get it back in a box for shipping, which is nice. I was prepared to somehow get it back, but I'm living with it for now, but it is extremely annoying - if the "bad end" is towards your head, you sink into it, but if it's towards your feet it's hard to sit on the end of the bed. My other Lucid mattress didn't have any issue expanding, so I'd bet it's a freak quality control issue. I'll still order from them again in the future, it's a nice balance of price and comfort. ... show more

After reading reviews, I’m glad I sprung for the 8” over the 6”. I have a king size from another online mattress brand that was like $2,000 and we put this one on the floor for my son when he wants to be close to me at night instead of in his own room. I’ve ended up on this with him a few times now and I have to say, I’m amazed by how comfortable yet firm it is. Giving my expensive mattress a run for it’s money for sure!
