We have a fairly old memory foam mattress, which we have loved for years - and when we purchased it, both my husband and I liked a firm mattress, which is what we got, however, a few years ago, I started having lower back pain and it didn't even occur to me that it could be the bed until I slept on another bed(high end and not firm) and noticed after the 2nd night, my back didn't hurt quite as bad in the morning. I decided to try this memory topper that a friend recommended to see if it would help. We have had it for about 6 weeks now and within the last week, I have woken up with no back pain. I had noticed right away that it was more comfortable and I slept much better, but now to also wake up to no back pain, I am so happy!! I bought two of these for two different beds. On my Casper mattress, it feels very soft and sinks in with the mattress. Originally, with just the Casper mattress alone, I would wake up with very bad back pain every morning, but not anymore. With my Walmart mattress, it feels more firm, but still makes the bed a lot more soft and comfortable, so I don’t wake up with back pain either way. So, I think regardless of what mattress you put this on, your back is going to appreciate how comfortable it is and will help with your back pain. ... show more
