I’m a side and a back sleeper, I toss and turn in my sleep and still am out like a baby. I was looking for something like medium plush, this is more of a medium firmness but it works honestly! I have chronic back pain and although it’s not healed (thanks to my profession it won’t ever) I definitely wake up with less aches and pain. Broke my back and neck skydiving in 2001 when I was 51. A life long obsession but everything went wrong that day. I was told I'd never walk. I should put up a video of me tap dancing now...doctors...I won't go further. I have a 3" memory foam as the base. I bought this 5 section 3" foam topper that sits on top of the other one. On top of the 5 section topper, I have that faux down sectioned topper. I slept on it for the first time last night. Woke up for the first time in years with zero neck pain from cervical radiculopathy. My back still hurt but it subsided once I moved around a bit... I also fell asleep much faster than normal and I slept soundly all night...no tossing and turning. It ain't a miracle device. It is solid engineering. I'm sorry that some people are disappointed with their purchase. If you keep your expectations low and don't buy into this purchase will change your life...then you will be very happy. I know that some folks complain it doesn't last forever. I don't care if it is disposable after one year...I will buy another one. It is worth every dime to me and $9 per month for a year is an incredible investment for such a fine product. ... show more

Manufacturer included a cutting tool (think letter opener) for the compressed packaging. Upon opening there was an extremely faint scent of lavender. NO chemical odors at all. There is a sheet of fabric backing on it that needs to be peeled off/removed before letting it expand. I did have to gently help one section start to expand from being packaged and it made a difference. It rapidly expanded, evenly, to the full 2" after being on the floor for about 2 hours. Packaging says to give it a full 48 hours so that is what I am doing (I have a feeling that time plays into it reaching it's full "firmness" level and not just the height). I will adjust review after we start sleeping on it. So far things look good though! ... show more

I decided to splurge a bit when I bought this mattress topper for my college dorm. When you first unbox it and lay it out to expand it, it does give off a nice lavender scent that lasted halfway through my first semester (around 2 months). It sleeps quite well and feels a lot like the memory foam mattress I have at home. As far as pain is concerned, sometimes I do wake up with back issues from a night's rest but not all the time. I will say that it doesn't stay in place on my mattress it kind of slides around so I have to push it back into place when I make my bed. This may is really confortable! I'm not near as sore when I first wake up now. I've only had it for like a week so some things I can't really comment on but if there's one downside is that it's hot. I definitely haven't noticed any "cooling effects" in my experience. I say this is common in all similar items though. I often wake up warm since putting this on my bed. After letting topper expand and checking for any flaws in expansion. Topper recovered exceptionally well from compression. First thing I noticed was the lack of Odor emitting from topper and the impressive coils & waves staring back at me. Placed topper on bed and have not been able to keep my eyes open once settled in. We have had some of the more expensive toppers that smelled for a while and provided pressure relief. This topper is outstanding in pressure relief every where it touch's you body. We have a good mattress but has been too firm as we age. Wake up sore every morning. Almost spent 2K plus on new mattress but then saw topper for under 200. First night sleep and no soreness and highest sleep score ever. WOW! Hope it stays this way. Toppers can be hot but we combined the gel topper together with our Giza sheets from My Pillow and we slept like babies. That is saying something for old stiffys like us. ... show more

So I bought this 2” mattress topper after my dog chewed and destroyed the last topper I had, which was a Lucid 3”. Our mattress is way too firm and without something on it I literally wake up with a stiff back every day. When we got the 3” it was amazing, so cushy and comfortable. I was happy, but my husband was not lol He prefers firm so the 3” was way too pillowy for him, though it completely took away my back pain. We had it for 3 years, and after the dog destroyed the 3” topper we went a few months without one and my back pain became unbearable again. With my husband’s preference in mind I decided to buy a 2” topper this time, and while it is a vast improvement over the mattress’s firmness, it isn’t as good for me as the 3” was. The 3” felt like a cozy hug every time I laid down, this one doesn’t feel as cozy but definitely adds softness. I’ve had it a week and my back pain has improved so that is good. I’d say if you want that cushy, cozy, hug-like experience then definitely go with the 3”. My husband says he likes this one way better than the last one, so if you like a little less cushy then this would be good for you. Overall I’m happy with the product. ... show more
