If you get back ache when you get up in the morning, it's time to change the mattress. Indeed, my old mattress had a visible depression in the middle, and was not supporting my back. In addition to this, my worn out knees felt pain, for the mattress is bowed up, when my body weight is placed on it. Since there is not much cartilage left in my knees, this bowed up situation puts undue pressure on the knee joints. Too often I wake up in pain in the middle of the night and gingerly shift the position. If this resonates with you, then you might want to consider this mattress in the 'firm' rating. It's a memory foam, and it hugs your body contour. The whole body, that is every part of the body that is in contact with the mattress, is supported. Even though it is rated "firm," it does not feel hard; it is actually soft--it will readily give to the weight of your body--but it will hold your body up, without being plush. Plush is bad for your back. Your body is not sinking into the mattress. In this sense, it is 'firm.' I slept on it the first night, and I feel already the difference: my back hurts less. I could straighten up, without the great pain I used to feel. I think it will get better and better. So worth the money I paid for it. I will give 5 stars, after I slept on it for a week. For now it is 4 stars. After One Week report: I must say, I am glad I bought this mattress. The morning after the first night of sleep on this mattress, my back hurt less--about one half? As I slept on the mattress, the back pain significantly diminished. After 7 nights of sleep, the back pain is maybe 1/5 of what it was before. I now can get up and straighten myself without difficulty. Good stuff!

What I love: - no smell - only 2 days to fully expand - very soft, “sink in” feeling - great for side sleepers because of the sink in, so it relieves pressure points - even supportive for 300 lb guest - though sinks in, never sinks too low to touch the bottom - great price I really like this mattress and the medium firmness level works really great for a guest room that is trying to please various people. I think I will get a firm one for myself because that is my preference. The medium feels really great to lay on, but it sinks lower than I like when sitting on the edge or under my elbows/knees. But it doesn’t sink that low, as you can see in the photo where I am putting all of my strength into my fist.

No smell, it’s very light weight and easy to move, it expanded fully in about 24 hours, is very comfortable and supportive, I bought the 10 inch thick it feels and looks nice. Packaging was good. I was coming from using a 20 year old spring type mattress and while i notice the memory foam is definitely better at curving to my body, I notice no improvement in my quality of sleep and the mattress tends to get very hot and sticky under my body. Don’t know if that’s just a memory foam thing or what. But it is a comfortable mattress and a good price, so I guess I can’t complain.

Very comfortable, very affordable, the quality is great, she sleeps great on it and it’s got enough support for my 140lb self plus her (27lbs). We've had the bed for a few weeks now. Originally was going to go with the plush because we are both side sleepers but when i checked Lucid's website they recommended the Medium Firm if the side sleeper is over 160lbs ( if i remember correctly) which i am and my partner is close to. I sort of regret not trying the plush out first because the medium firm is REALLY firm when first fully inflated. But as we've been sleeping on it its definitely eased up after the first few nights and is very comfortable and supportive in any sleeping position. Definitely a high quality cover and it was worth springing for the gel/bamboo foam version of this because it does not retain our heat at all compared to memory foam toppers i've had in the past. If you're a side sleeper and anything under 180lbs or so would definitely recommend going for the plush version though.
